As we have done in the Fall of each of the last ten years, we need to determine numbers for the boys’ and girls’ teams, K-2 through 8th grade, for the Spring 2022 season. We will organize teams, assign coaches, and order equipment and uniforms based on registrations on record by November 30th. With supply chain issues worldwide, it is especially important this year to put orders in as soon as we can. So, please don’t delay registration – southdaytoncatholiclax.org/registration - no payment is due upfront!

The SDCLC Board is aware of recent advertising from a previously unknown youth lacrosse “club” called “Excalibur” attempting to form boys’ teams in the south Dayton area. This new “club” is not a “re-branding” of SDCLC and is not sanctioned by or affiliated with Archbishop Alter High School, despite emails, social media posts, and flyers suggesting otherwise. Before you choose any sports team for your son or daughter, please learn more about the organization, its mission, its leadership, reputation, and ability to provide the best environment and learning experience.

As an organization staffed entirely by volunteers, we are always looking for more parent involvement including coaching staff, team managers, fundraising, and various logistics functions. Contact the SDCLC Board of Directors at [email protected] if you are at all interested in helping out.

Registration Fees (due in February before formal practices start):
K-2 = $25;
3rd & 4th grade = $100;
5th & 6th grade = $150;
7th & 8th grade = $175

Try Lacrosse Day
The club is hosting a "Try Lacrosse Day" Next Sunday, October 10th, on the practice turf at Alter High School. From 1pm-2pm, new players can come out and run through basic drills and fun games to see if lacrosse might be for them. We are always trying to grow the sport, so please pass this along to anyone that may be interested. We will have extra sticks on hand for the new players to use.

SDC Knights Lacrosse Registration is NOW OPEN!

SDC Knights Lacrosse and the Southern Ohio Youth Chapter are looking forward to playing in the spring. As we do each year, we need to determine if we will have enough players at each grade level before the first of the year. Therefore, with the uncertainty due to the current COVID situation, our Board has decided to open registration with NO MONEY DUE at this time. Please Note: In January 2021 Knights Lacrosse registration fees and US Lacrosse membership dues will be required before your son or daughter can practice or play. We will follow up with payment details at that time.

Parents,

We continue to monitor the latest information from government officials, healthcare experts, the local school districts, and the Southern Ohio Chapter of US Lacrosse (SOC). While things are still evolving we wanted to provide the info we have at this time.

a) Alter High School has closed its facilities until at least April 6.

b) Kettering Schools have notified us that we cannot use their outdoor fields starting today.

c) SOC has canceled all games this weekend for both boys & girls. They are hoping for a “Suspend not Cancel” approach with the belief that some lax is better than none. This is subject to ongoing re-evaluation and decisions could change within days or weeks.

So as of this message, ALL Knights Lacrosse practices and games are suspended until further notice. We will continue to evaluate the situation over the coming weeks with the hope that we’ll be able to get back on the field. As disappointing as this is, please remember this is a recreational youth sports club and the well-being of our players, coaches and families is most important.

If you have a chance when the weather is nice, get outside with your son or daughter and have them throw, catch, scoop, and cradle. Parents, you don’t need a stick to catch — a baseball glove will work just fine. Use this time to spend a little time with your kids, take it from someone whose 3 kids are grown up, time flies and you need to treasure what matters most… togetherness.
