Zak Salehi started with us at just 7 years old. Today, he’s an AKI instructor and is working towards his Black Belt!

We surprised him with a watch as a small token of our appreciation for his years of dedication, loyalty, and hard work.

Watching our students grow up and become the next generation of instructors is one of our greatest rewards. We are so proud of Zak and can’t wait to see him earn that Black Belt!

I just learned that the great Muay Thai fighter Saekson Janjira passed away a few days ago. I feel incredibly fortunate to have known him. He graciously invited my son and me into his home, where we spent a week training with him and learning the art of Muay Thai.

He was not only an extraordinary fighter, but also an exceptional teacher—charismatic, kind, humble, and inspiring. The time we spent with him is something I will always treasure.

Today, I feel both sadness and gratitude: sadness that he is gone, and gratitude that I had the privilege of meeting him, learning from him, and sharing those unforgettable moments with such a remarkable man. RIP, Saekson. You will be deeply missed.

A farewell to Mr Alejandro Bermudez

He first walked through our doors as a 5-year-old Little Eagle, and through years of dedication, perseverance, and hard work, he earned his Black Belt and eventually became one of our instructors. For the past seven years, he has been an important part of our teaching staff, helping guide and inspire hundreds of students.

While we are certainly sad to see him go, we are also incredibly proud of the young man he has become. Watching our students grow into confident, successful adults has always been one of the greatest rewards of what we do, and Alejandro is a wonderful example of that.

At AKI, proper equipment is essential for kickboxing.

Learning to spar without making contact is like learning to swim without getting in the water. Once students have developed the proper control, technique, and discipline, controlled contact helps build timing, confidence, and real-world skills—all in a safe, supervised environment.

That’s how we prepare our students for real self-defense.
