Brought to you by Coach Natalie, an athlete and coach with more than 10 years of experience, Fit-N-Fun programs are designed to help children enjoy fitness, develop healthy habits, and learn key life skills through sports. We offer:
• Mommy and Me Boot Camp (ages 3 months-2 years): Babies ride along in strollers as mothers enjoy group exercise.
• Daddy and Me (ages 2-4): In a safe and stimulating
atmosphere, toddlers and preschoolers are introduced to fitness fun with a warm-up, a series of sports activities, and a game.
• Little Stars and Little Champs (ages 3-5): Preschoolers learn basic foundations in movement, with elements of tennis, basketball, baseball, and soccer. The aim of Little Stars is to introduce basic skills, encourage kids to enjoy sports, build their confidence and concentration skills, and foster healthy social interaction with peers.
• Healthy Kids Club and Fit Families(ages 6-12): Building on the practices and philosophy of the Little Stars program, these programs introduce new sports skills, game rules, and teamwork, while continuing to emphasize the core values of fitness, fun, and confidence. Coach Natalie and the Fit-N-Fun staff also offer private and semi-private lessons and birthday party appearances. At Fit-N-Fun, our top priority is to help kids discover the fun of physical activity. Without pressure to perform or compete, we build children’s self-esteem and a love of sports. In all our programs and classes, we strive to
• Increase kids’ self-confidence and resilience
• Improve kids’ fitness (including balance, coordination, large- and small-motor skills)
• Build important life skills, such as concentration, imagination, and cooperation
• Encourage relaxation and self-control
• Teach the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle and a nutritious diet (all programs are reviewed and approved by a registered dietitian)
We believe that kids need time to practice sports skills in a friendly, non-competitive environment. Kicking a soccer ball on the run or hitting a baseball thrown from the pitcher’s mound is challenging. Trying and failing, especially in a game situation, can quickly frustrate kids and turn them off of sports. Fit-N-Fun programs let kids build physical skills and attention span without the added stress of competition. Our coaches focus on helping kids develop at a level appropriate to their skills. They offer praise, encouragement, and instruction based on children’s attitudes and needs—not their physical aptitude. Many kids—especially those who are naturally athletic—can and do enjoy other physical education (PE) and youth sports programs. But some kids simply lack interest in sports, or have had a negative experience (being picked last, spending too much time on the bench, or being criticized for lacking skills). These experiences can quickly damage self-esteem and prompt a hard-to-break pattern of inactivity. At Fit-N-Fun, we especially reach out to these kids. We show them that fitness can be a fun, integral, and healthy part of their lives. If they overcome their aversion to exercise early, we can help them form a lifelong, positive habit—regular physical activity. Fit-N-Fn kids learn healthy choices and life skills that will serve them in any endeavor, on and off the playing field. At Fit-N-Fun, we bring FUN into the learning process and onto the sports field!
