Something interesting-
When you hang around a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA academy, you normally hear the instructor engaging students in conversations about new positions or the last UFC pay per view. Today, one of my Black Belts engaged me in a conversation about financial statements, strategic business planning, cash flow analysis, and business intelligence. I was immensely proud to speak to a person who was my student, and now a black belt colleague about complexed business skills. Most people don’t realize that the head coach at WMB has achieved an MBA and speak to the students regularly about educational values. The last competition team not only produced world class BJJ talent; but also Robotics pioneers, Finance Managers, Logistics and Supply Chain Professionals, Doctors, Accountants etc. You guys never cease to amaze me both on and off the mat.

From the second he got here, I knew he was a Star. Now he’s pursuing something that he started many years ago here at WMB. Congratulations to Alex “Raffa” Couto; going to college on a wresling scholarship because of his hard work and dedication.

We will be sure to be at his first college match.

Congratulations to WMB superstar Lorenzo for winning the Pan American Kids Tournament for the 3rd year in a row. It’s hard to win this particular tournament at all let alone 3 times in a row. The scary thing is that he can do this tournament 2 more years because of his age. Congratulations to his opponent as well for showing great courage and heart to leave it all on the mat.
Congratulations again Lorenzo; it is an honor to teach you. Special thank you to Coach Zachy, another WMB super star, for helping to prepare him for this tournament.
