When I told people I was flying 8 people out to California, people looked at me like I was crazy… or like it wouldn’t happen.

Well, here’s a quick visual recap from last week of me doing JUST THAT. ✈️🌴

This past week was business development and essentially a mini family reunion all wrapped into one.

Two of our investors were celebrating birthdays and major milestones at the same time, so what better reason to bring everybody together?

My Nanny Bot turned 80 years young! 🎉❤️

Since you only turn 80 once, we HAD to do our big one for her!

Also my son Vontre turned 27 and received another school that’s going to help him with his Pilot journey.

Now this trip ended up being more than about birthday’s.

While we were in California, my team and I were able to lock in meetings with other prospective partners, Hollywood producers and Filmmakers for other projects we are working on behind the scenes.

This trip really ended up being an opportunity for creating memories, celebrating the people who have poured into us, strengthening family connections, and enjoying some of the fruits of everything we’ve worked so hard to build.

Sometimes people only see the work, the meetings, the flights, the businesses and the hustle.

But THIS is what we’re building it for. ❤️

The ability to say, “Pack your bags. We’re going.” ✈️

Now the biggest flex of this whole trip is that while we were in California, business and revenue was still being earned on autopilot back home, thanks to the systems we have in place.

A special thank you to Tameka Smith-Hampton and ajarswithcolors who stayed up with me into the wee hours of the night helping with the decor and making sure the event came together beautifully.

Y’all understood the assignment! 🙌🏿

How do you thank someone whose 80 years of life helped shape the person and businesswoman you are today? ❤️

I’m not sure you ever fully can.

But today, I’m going to try.

Nanny Bot, thank you.

Thank you for showing me what consistency looks like.

Thank you for the many years you dedicated to the United States Postal Service before retiring and for showing our family the value of hard work and commitment.

Thank you for showing us what it means to stay rooted in faith through more than 30 years with Bible Enrichment Fellowship Church.

Thank you for showing us the importance of relationships, community, and sisterhood, including 25 years with the Ladies of Color Turning Pages Book Club.

And thank you for believing in me.

What most people don’t know is Nanny Bot isn’t only someone I love and look up to.

I missed National Aviation Day by six days, but I think this moment was worth the wait. ✈️❤️

Today I looked up and saw my son, Vontre’ Curry, featured at our alma mater, Miami Dade College Homestead Campus. Talk about a FULL CIRCLE moment! 🥹

There is something incredibly fulfilling about watching your children chase their dreams, find their own lane, and become everything you prayed, supported, encouraged, and sometimes PUSHED them to become.

As a mother, I can accomplish a million things, but watching my children succeed will always be among my greatest accomplishments.

Vontre’, you are one of my greatest success stories.

My lineage. My legacy. One of three. ❤️

Keep chasing the dream. Keep taking up space. Keep going higher.

Because sometimes your greatest contribution to this world isn’t what you build for yourself. It’s what you pour into the generation coming behind you.

And baby, WE’RE UP! ✈️

Last week, spur of the moment, I felt led to jump on a plane and go to Atlanta. ✈️

No long planning. No overthinking. I just went.

What started as a quick getaway turned into a moment of reflection, clarity, and some lessons I didn’t even know I needed.

In this video, I unpack some of my biggest takeaways from the trip and what this season of my life is teaching me about freedom, purpose, and creating a life you don’t constantly need a break from.

My dad was a gambler.

So maybe I learned something about taking risks earlier than I realized.

The difference is, in business, I’ve learned not to leave everything to chance.

Every time you hire someone, you’re taking a gamble.

Every time you invest money back into your business, you’re taking a gamble.

Every time you believe in someone before they fully believe in themselves, you’re taking a gamble.

And every time you decide to grow instead of staying comfortable, you’re putting something on the table.

But the longer I’ve been in business, the more I’ve realized that some of the biggest blessings are sitting on the other side of a calculated risk.

These pictures were taken at Casino Night for charity, and seeing myself smiling like this made me think about the season I’m walking into.

When I get back from LA, I’m raising the stakes.

I’m hiring more people.

I’m growing my team.

I’m investing more into other people.

I’m creating more opportunities.

And I’m giving myself permission to think bigger than what has already worked.

Because there comes a point in business where playing it safe becomes the biggest risk you can take.

I’ve built something worth protecting.

Now it’s time to build something worth multiplying.

And I’m betting on us. 🎰❤️
