Tai Chi for Yoga: Root, Move, Refine with Sifu Fred Holt | FRIDAY OCTOBER 2, 6:30-9PM
Train the body. Calm the mind. Move with intention
What if Tai Chi could change the way you experience your yoga practice?
Have you been curious about Tai Chi and how it might complement both your yoga and your inner practice? This workshop is your opportunity to experience it firsthand.
Yoga and Tai Chi share many of the same principles—grounding, balance, alignment, breath, stability, and moving from the center. We’ll explore these connections and show you how Tai Chi can bring a new understanding to the yoga practice you already know and love.
It starts with your feet. Learn how connecting to the ground creates a true root—like a tree—giving you greater stability while allowing the rest of your body to remain open, full, released, and mobile.
From the ground up, we’ll explore knee and foot alignment, movement through the hips and kua, and how to use the arms without pulling the shoulders out of place. You’ll learn how to create strength and structure without unnecessary tension.
Using familiar asanas, we’ll explore mobility within the posture itself. Tai Chi teaches us that being rooted doesn’t mean being rigid. You can be stable while still moving, turning, opening, and releasing.
Then we’ll bring these principles into your transitions—learning to shift your weight, move from your center, and stay connected as you move from one posture to another.
You’ll leave with a new understanding of how to build, inhabit, and move through your yoga postures—and with Tai Chi principles you can immediately bring into your practice.
Come discover how Tai Chi can improve your yoga from the ground up—creating stronger roots, better alignment, greater mobility, smoother transitions, and a more connected practice.
Bring your yoga. Discover the Tai Chi within it.
