100+FPS Hammershot write-up.
* Full Disclosure: I Do Not have an actual Chronograph, unfortunately all FPS records are from a Chronobarrel. That said, I use New + Used Elite darts in testing and record all numbers but only announce AVERAGE FPS, and being from the chronybarrel, I often subtract another 5fps from the Average recorded. This way I’m not exaggerating numbers or claiming a permanent FPS, and will allow others to mimick my builds and find a better result than stated. I understand its a chronobarrel but I can’t stand being called out on this stuff, I’m not an engineer and I’m not sciencing for the greater masses, this is a Hobby and my fav pass time.
* You’ll need a 60cc syringe, Firestrike PT or a similar sized PT slightly Longer than stock HS PT, cause it restricts the PH from traveling further forward. The 60cc syringe fits perfectly in the internal housing and the HS PH fits perfectly inside, creating the perfect seal w/ stock O-ring, no Teflon tape needed.*
*Items/Stuff needed:
-Basic tools (screwdriver, box opener knife) + 9/16 drill bit.
-60cc syringe.
-Foam padding (2-5mm thick).
-17/32 Brass tubes.
-Mega Dart/ Thick gasket.
1) Gutting internals + Shell Cutting: Cut screw post out of shell (rear upper peg) to allow sear/hammer to travel further backwards. Trim the inner ends of the shell’s slot where sear sticks out, bottom and top.
2) Extending the Draw Length to the prime + catch (backwards): Add a slab (1-2mm thick) piece of plastic to the underside of sear/hammer piece, where it touches trigger. This will lock it further backwards upon catching (I sanded contact points, super glued + pre drilled a hole for a tiny screw to help keep in place, the screw will not effect the catch if it’s back as far as you can make it), after shaving/sanding some of the rear of trigger to allow smooth action prime.
3) Extending Draw Forwards: The hammer contact point must be cut out and lowered (white rubber rectangle piece + internal housing), simply re glue into place and maybe add a piece of 1-2mm foam for padding. This will allow the plunger to travel forwards more.
4) Longer Plunger Tube: Keeping with the PT swap (firestrike or 60cc syringe, take the stock orange piece and trim the rear down in order to sink in/sit flush on-in front of syringe (eliminates deadspace) Make sure to measure + trim rear of syringe frequently so that it fits in the internal housing. Trim up some of the internal shell at the rear of where the syringe will sit, this helps seat/lock the new syringe/PT in place, make sure to leave enough room for a gasket on the stock orange piece. I added a piece of 3-5mm foam piece to help in cushioning, although It doesn’t 100% contact the front of the syringe, it’ll help prevent any mishaps.
5) Air/Gasket Seal between Cylinder and PT: The Gasket is super important (all cylinder’d blasters gasket seals suck) I chose the OMW gasket and sealed the outter ridge w/ gasket making sealer goo. You can also use a slice of Mega Dart, make sure to cut it x2 thickness of stock gasket. It won’t be perfect and it’ll widdle down but this is a Hammershot w/ a cylinder.. what do you expect?
6) Brass. 17/32 brass inserts in the cylinder (I use a 9/16 drill bit) is the final key, ofcoarse you’re limited to the length of the shell/rotation point (and you’ll have to trim some plastic off the front outter part to allow the brass to cycle around it) and thus optimal length isn’t achievable untill further modding/cutting of shell in some way.
7) SpringLoad: I’ve seen BlasterTECH use a 5kg spring (w/ Brassed barrels) to achieve 100fps in a video. A Worker 8.5 will do 100fps in this setup, adding a Tek6 spring or a 12mm spacer will result in 110-115, and combined- the 3 will result in 125FPS average. I’ve tried multiple springs doubled with + without the spacer. I found the 8.5, Tek6 + spacer to be perfect for single handed priming.
* ((otherwise why would you choose the Hammershot to mod? The whole gimmick of this thing is the thumb drawn prime, wielding the ability to dual-wield.. you’re taking the fun of the HS out by making it too powerful to drawn with 1 hand))*
*This Build/Write-up was made to show the world its entirely possible to get a standard Hammershot over 100-120+FPS on a consistent basis from the Stock cylinder and stock parts (besides PT swap), while maintaining the ability to Prime One Handed* I’ve been claiming my HS’s hit 100+FPS for a while, and because I use Chronybarrel very few tend to listen. If I’m wrong about all this, oh-well.. doesn’t hit as hard as I first thought... but you’ll be happy with your HS’s performance. That.. I can assure you.

TY to Foamfreaks, Nerf’-Up and NerfLife for being staples in the community. I wouldn’t enjoy this hobby as much w/o y’all. ❤️
