PILATES MAT CLASS, starting next Thursday 6/11 @ 6pm. ✨

We are so excited to welcome the newest addition to the Sentirsi Staff, and who will be teaching this mat class - Umme!

Umme is a Mat Certified Pilates Instructor certified through True Definition Pilates. She holds a B.S. in Supply Chain & Information Systems from Kean University and a Master’s degree in Data Analytics from Harrisburg University. Umme fell in love with Pilates after experiencing its transformative benefits firsthand, including increased flexibility, muscle tone, and endurance in everyday life. Inspired by her own journey, she is passionate about sharing the benefits of Pilates with others and helping more people feel strong, confident, and connected to their bodies. As a South Asian woman, she is especially committed to supporting wellness and increasing access to movement within her community. Off the mat, you’ll find Umme reading, analyzing just about any kind of data, and brushing up on history.

We asked Demi what her favorite exercise to teach on the Cadillac is, her response…

My favorite exercise on the Cadillac is Monkey! I love teaching (and doing) this dynamic, spring-loaded stretch because it really gets into the hamstrings and calves. Monkey also gently lengthens the spine, overall working to reduce lower back strain and improve flexibility. It also lays the groundwork for other for other Pilates exercises like Climb a Tree, Stomach Massage, and Elephant.

Gluteal tendinopathy is a condition we frequently see in our Pilates clients, often linked to factors such as excessive loading, poor progression of strength training, or sports-related injuries. Many clients aim to build stronger, larger muscles—but the tendons and joints don’t always adapt at the same pace. When this imbalance occurs, the result can be irritation or injury.
