🔴🦅 REDbird WRESTLING IS GOING NATIONAL! 🦅🔴

We have some massive news from the mat. Four of our incredibly talented Metamora Township High School wrestlers have qualified for the prestigious Fargo Nationals this year, representing Team Illinois on the biggest stage in high school wrestling!

💪 Grady Neal has qualified in BOTH Freestyle and Greco-Roman!

🤼‍♂️ Jayden Lambert & Mark Aeschliman both qualified in Greco-Roman.

✨ Calli Willman qualified in Freestyle and will be hitting the mats to dominate next weekend!

These athletes have put in countless hours of sweat, grit, and determination to earn their spots at Fargo. We are incredibly proud to have them representing Metamora on the national stage!

Congratulations to Grady Neal, finishing 3rd place @ 157lbs this past weekend IHSA State Finals!! With 47-5 junior season and setting a new MTHS single season win record.

Grady you have been locked in since day 1 stepping on the mat at 5yrs old. We are beyond proud of you and all you have accomplished thus far. Keep setting those goals G

We are looking forward to our second season of Metamora Girls Wrestling!

We will have a girls only open mats and try it out night on Monday, October 9th 6-7pm.

We will also have girls only practice nights starting in early November. Stay tuned for our girls practice schedule.

Feel free to bring them to our open mats and try it out nights this month.

Girls open mats Monday, October 9th 6-7pm
Boys open mats Monday, October 16th 6-7pm

We also have registration dates set.
Registration will take place in the high school commons.
Monday, October 23rd 6-8pm
Sunday, October 29th 6-8pm

REMINDER: tomorrow night (Tuesday) we are having a “GIRLS NIGHT” of wrestling at Peoria Notre Dame. All ages/experience levels are welcome, even those who just want to learn a little bit about the sport!! We will start at 5:00pm. Reach out with any questions!!

We are going to have a “GIRLS NIGHT” at Peoria Notre Dame on Tuesday July 25th at 5:00pm. This is for any girl who currently wrestles or is interested in wrestling — all ages, all experience levels, and all over Central Illinois.
There will be no fee involved — just trying to get more and more girls introduced and exposed to wrestling.
Feel free to bring your daughter just to watch if she is apprehensive about trying it!!
