The Studio's Mission is to provide a space for the community to escape reality thru dance and fitness classes. As you get older, having an outlet to express anger, sadness, happiness or anything else you are feeling is such a relief. Most people go around not ever truly expressing what they feel, but with dance you can. The Studio School of Dance is the place to escape from the headaches of work, the stress of school, and sometimes troubles at home. The Studio believes that dance also provides a foundation for success in life. The skills learned in the dance classroom transfer to other area of a student’s life. Dance classes increase the child’s well-being by improving his/her physical development and intellectual skills and by increasing self-discipline. The Studio subscribes to teaching through positive reinforcement and nurturing in order to produce a life-long respect and love for dance as well as very happy and well-trained young dancers. The Studio follows the curriculum of the Russian (Vaganova) Syllabus in Ballet. Our students learn in a pleasant environment with small classes favorable to their dance education. We offer classes in the following: Ballet, Pointe/ Variation, Adult Ballet, Mommy & Me, Contemporary, Floor Barre, Zumba. Meet Madelyn Lambert! 💗

Madelyn began dancing at The Studio at just 4 years old in 2018. Now 12 and a Level 4 dancer, she trains in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Modern, and Variation and is a proud member of NOLA Dance Project.

Madelyn also gives back as a teacher assistant, helping inspire our youngest dancers. This season, she is excited to begin training in her very first pair of pointe shoes! 🩰

Outside of dance, Madelyn is a dedicated student and captain of her school’s Quiz Bowl team. We are so proud of all she has accomplished and can’t wait to see what’s next! 💕

Amaya has danced with us since she was three years old, and now, as she begins her senior year, we could not be prouder of the talented dancer and beautiful leader she has become. What a special way to celebrate her final year of high school!

One day, they won’t reach for your hand before taking that first step.

But today, they might.

Childhood moves so quickly. The tiny dance shoes, the proud smile when they try something new and the moment they realize, “I can do this!” become memories we hold onto long after class is over.

Our Mommy & Me and Creative Movement classes are about so much more than learning to dance. They give little ones a joyful place to use their imaginations, make new friends, build confidence and begin discovering their independence.

If your little one dances through the living room, puts on shows for the family or lights up whenever music begins, this may be their time.

We offer Mommy & Me and Creative Movement classes for children ages 18 months–4 years at The Studio-School of Dance in Metairie. Their first class is complimentary, and we’ll help you decide which class feels right for your child.
