Dear Fencers, Fencing Enthusiast and Friends,
A quick update. The Llulla Invitational is shaping up to be quite an event with now 11 teams registered.
The Llulla also marks the last unsanctioned event that the NOFC and Louisiana Division will have for this 2026/27 season. This means you will now need to renew your USA Fencing membership.
All sanctioned Local and Divisional events need only Access membership but the Crescent City Open in November, a ROC, will require full competitive membership. Of course, if you are an Access member and wish to fence a regional or National event, you can bump your membership up three days prior to registration. You can't go back down after the event. Sorry, no give backs from USA Fencing.
Up coming tournaments are now posted on askFRED.net
Sept 19 3 Weapon Mixed Open w/Y12 Demo and U Saber
Oct. 17 3 Weapon Mixed Open w/Y12 Demo and E & U Foil
Nov. 21 & 22 CCO D1A, 2, 3, Vet and Jr /Cdt. (gender specific)
Dec Rudolf Memorial 3 Weapon Mixed Open w/Y12 Demo and U Saber TBA
In 2027 look forward to the LA Division Foil melee and The Colin "Bad Ass" Miner Epic Epee Melee
Also in 2027 and again in 2028, New Orleans will host at the Morial Convention Center, the October NAC.
Events have not been posted but tend to lean to a Div1, Para, possible Jr/Cdt and maybe a Div 2or3. There is a forlorn hope for Vets but it is truly a longshot after all, New Orleans is so kiddy friendly with it's bars, casino, Bourbon Street, burlesque and jazz dens and up scaled restaurants all over, what are Vets going to do.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Hope to see you all on strip soon.
Yours truly,
Jonathan Cohen
