Greetings ALL,

We are quickly approaching the last tournament of the 2025/2026 season and what a season it was. Two ROC/RJCC one with RYC attached and three divisional events. The Mother's Day Eve looked to be quite a success and the Bad Ass was reclaimed by Colin Miner aka Collin Miner /Colin Minor / Kolin Minnor (pending on which sword you're looking at.)

But now is the time to sign up for the last event of the season: La Div Championships.
June 13 at the Hilton.
Closed but to members of the Division, it's time to truly test your abilities and start the 2026/27 season on a high note.

USA Fencing membership is required.

For our youth fencers 12 and under, this will be an open tournament for all and any who wish to sign up.
Trophies for the winners, medals for 2nd and double third places. (Trophies are only for the young, not young at heart, Irv.) USA Fencing membership is always recommended but not required.

Remember all USA Fencing memberships starting in July must be renewed but if you are new to the USAF you can sign up now and your membership will run until Aug1 2027.

Greetings All Members, Parents, Fencers and Fencing Enthusiasts,

The Summer Trimester has begun and your dues are most welcomed.

Also, our Summer beginners class registration is still open and going strong. Sign up space is limited. No better time than the summer to learn a new sport. Our summer classes tend to be more balanced with more time to play with the intermediates on the electric strips. If this sounds like gibberish, come on in and we will flesh it all out for you as you poke away at your fellow beginners.

USA Fencing members, it's not to late to sign up for the Epic Epee Melee this Saturday at the Riverside Hilton. Currently, it's a C event with the possibility of a B event if we get one more B fencer to play and as always , the stars align.

The Louisiana Division Championships are coming fast, June 13. Sign up on askfred.net.

Dear Fencers, Parents, Fencing Enthusiasts and Friends,

The Summer Trimester will begin May 1st. We will remain on a Monday/ Thursday schedule.
Trimester fee will also remain across the board at $385.

Warm ups will continue to start at 6:45 ( ok 7pm.) Our beginner boat fencers will conclude at 8 / 8:15 and our intermediates will finish between 8:15 and 8:30.
Advance and member fencers may begin on the first available stripe after 7:45. and fence until 10pm.

3 Weapon Open Y12 and Under and a Sr 13 and above 3 weapon open. The youth tournament is open to all 12 yr Olds and under. USAF memberships is highly recommended but not required. Sr events are restricted to LaDiv members with USA F memberships.

Venue Change:
Today's tournament will be held at the NOFC in the Bocce Club on Severn Ave. Why, Fr Quarter Fest parking in and around the Hilton is sky high
Times remain the same.

This Saturday La Division will host a three weapon Open on the Basketball Court at the Hilton Fitness Center.
Registration is still open but will go automatically into late fess on the 15th. Yes you need to be a USA Fencing member Access membership or higher to compete in this event. Medals to the top four places

Our concurring youth events which does not need USA Fencing membership but is highly recommended is lacking fencers in Saber and Epee. Very hard for a young fencer to lunge, unhook, run around to the other side , re hook and parry. It takes forever and it seems that the fencer is never truly able to score. Seriously, it does take two to fence. Medals to the top four places

May 16, The Adam "Bad Ass" Ray Epic Epee Melee, a five touch round robin will be fenced at the Hilton. The even becomes ratable if we have 12 are more fencers. No DE's required. No medals, winner takes all including, the Bad Ass sword, and having the tournament named after them. Remember, there can be only one!


June 13 Louisiana Division Championships. This is a senior 3 weapon Open for ONLY Louisiana Division members. Special medals for the winners with standard medals for 2nd and double 3rd place.
June 13 Louisiana Division Youth Championships is open to ALL fencers, 12 and under with trophies to the winners and medals for the 2nd and double third place winners.

Greetings All,

I wish you a very Joyous Easter and a Happy Passover.

On the 15th, if you are wanting to go to the Summer National Championships in Seattle, this summer and have not qualified for Div 3, 2 Y14, or Vet, your last chance to do so is through the Louisiana Division. Registration is open on AskFRED.

How do you know if you have qualified? Just login to your profile at USAFencing.org and scroll to the right. IF you are on a phone scroll all the way down. Both will show you what you can fence and if you are qualified to do so.

There is a second component to the SNC and that is "The Challenge." Because Cadet and Jrs have a separate championship, JO's, in January, these events are fenced as a NAC which needs no qualifying points.

As a Division we can qualify three fencers without fencing but if there is more than three we will need to fence off. Top three are qualified and there is no pass down. Should a qualified not go to the championships, that space is lost. The fence off will happen, if needed, at the tournament on the 18th. see below

April 15 LA Div: Summer National Qualifier (not an event)

April 18 3Weapon Open with u Saber and Y12 Demo

May 16 The Collin "Bad Ass" Minor Epee Melee

June 13 LA Division Championships with Open Y12 Demo

Correction: Summer National Qualifier will close at midnight on April14. Any contested event will be fenced at the 3 Weapon Open on April 18th. Registration deadline for the Summer National Championship in Portland OR is midnight May 6 PST.

All Events will open on ASKFRED.net this Friday, March 20.

Greetings All,

Next Monday evening, the NOFC will begin its spring beginners course in Olympic Epee. This 6 week course will get you as close to a1923 French Judicial duel as anyone would want.

Epee is truly the easiest weapon to understand of the three weapons that will be fenced in 2028. By the end of the course you will be ready for local and divisional competitions or you can try your hand at either foil or saber.

So if you want to jump into the fastest growing combat (sorry pickleball) sport in the US, just walk into the heart of the Italian American Bocce Club at 2340 Severn Ave, Metairie 70002.

We start at 6:45 Monday and Thursday evenings evenings. Class runs for about an hr/hr 1/2 and are open to all from 9 yrs old and up. Tshirt, tennis shoes and sweatpants are the attire. Gear, USA Fencing Access membership and a personal fencing glove will be provide with dues, $200. We do offer a 20% family discount after the first membership if you take together. After all, a family that sticks together, stays together.

To All Fencers,

Due to an over abundance of revelry and just plan old fun, the NOFC will be closed this Thursday and next Monday. We will resume regular practice on Thursday the19.

I wish you all a great Mardi Gras and for your absolution from said fun, you will preform twenty perfect lunges every day for the next five week while saying, "I will do what my coaches tell me to do."
