Hey everyone 💛
I haven’t posted in a few because life has been… a lot.
I’ve been busy, stressed, juggling responsibilities, and most importantly, trying to stay aware of my mental health and what I need on any given day.
And sometimes? I don’t feel like running.
I don’t feel like working out.
I don’t feel like doing much of anything.
I think we hear so much about discipline, consistency, and pushing through that we forget something important:
Some days, it’s okay to do nothing.
Rest doesn’t mean you’ve given up.
Maybe today’s win isn’t a run or a workout.
Maybe it’s taking a long shower, putting on a face mask and watching a movie. Maybe it’s reading a book, sitting outside, listening to music, cleaning your space, taking a nap, journaling, or simply giving your brain a quiet day.
The important part for me is staying mentally aware.
Am I resting because I genuinely need rest?
Am I doing something that helps me feel better?
Am I still taking care of myself in some way?
Movement is one form of self-care. It isn’t the only one.
And when I’m ready, I move again.
So if you’ve been struggling lately and your workouts haven’t looked the way you wanted them to, give yourself some grace.
Take care of your mind. Take care of your body. Do something kind for yourself today — even if that something is rest.
We can always take another step tomorrow.
