Community Need - The community is in need of a charitable organization that will provide student athletes guidance and a positive direction through involvement in mentoring (academic and life), coaching, and post high school athletics. This need exists for both potential college bound athletes and non-athletes; the initial focus of the Brevard Hurricanes will be on athletes. Academic requirements

of higher learning institutions pose a substantial barrier to entry into college for high school athletes. Competition for athletic scholarships is intense and student athletes must possess strong attributes on and off the field to gain an advantage. Education, life skills and ability to be a productive citizen are invaluable; however, many of these athletes lack the support (both economic and social) to obtain these skills.

Team, I need some volunteers for an event we are doing November 2nd from about 7:00am - 12pm (Be here at 6:15AM). We will feed you and it will be good exposure for the team for you to be out in your jersey's. Talk to Coach Craig for details. Cycle4Alzheimers is the event.

Big thanks to all the CANES players, coaches and staff for making that mid week schedule changing and going to Bradenton. The team played hard and worked through all of the officiating issues. Big thanks to Matt for leaving it all out there on the field, speedy recovery!

Field Directions from Coach Luke (DB Wildcats)...Kick off is scheduled for 7:05PM. Your locker room will open at 5:00PM (park by the church). Ice & water will be provided in the concession stand. It is Race Week in Daytona, your best route is I-95 north to exit 265 (LPGA Blvd). Turn right on LPGA & head East for 3 miles. Turn right on Derbyshire Rd & field will be on your left, 1 and a 1/2 miles.

REMINDER...the majority of the team has an obligation due to Coach Craig by tomorrow as discussed at practice...and for those that didn't make practice, get on FB or the phone and find out what that is. This is a team sport and a team effort, yet we have a small group that is supporting everyone else!
