Some live oak wood from a felled tree from our yard, I finally cut a slice of one of the many logs I have kept for re-use. I made myself a mallet for chisel work and whatever duty I need it to perform. Live oak is incredibly dense.

Fabulous day at Kelly Park with the Melges M15 winter race series, with 115 boats on the starting line. By all accounts the largest attendance race for the M15 class. We see lots of couples , dad and son, dad and daughter teams competing. It warms my heart to see this area live to it’s potential, something Susie and I fought so hard for 40 years. Also good to see that the new Parks and Rec management stepped up and did improvements to Kelly park , some items seriously improved safety and public use of the waterfront.

We are so proud to see Melges Performance Sailing taking our place at Kelly Park, and expanding on our vision of a center with non motorized sailing sports.
To have the Melges in the Space Coast is an honor. Meanwhile we remain in business as Calema as we have for the past 40 years. Our website is our shop and we will strive to serve our customers in this new era.

Calema has expanded from a Windsurfing to Sailing, Kayaking and Stand-up Paddling. Tinho, shapes sails, fins and boards and invents instructional tools.

Almost 40 years since we opened in January of 1984. So many beautiful memories. Our boys knew only a life with Calema as a part of it. So many mixed emotions as we move forward to the next adventures... whatever life might bring😊

Today, it suddenly came to this. Calema setting off into the sunset . Please keep in touch for future developments. Hopefully we will have some exciting news soon.
For now , Farewell; It has been a heck of a ride with plenty of catapults and blissful glides. We can say with honesty we gave it our all. Hopefully we made a difference in some people’s lives . An enormous thanks to our founding members and long term customers. We are forever grateful .

Packing up the regatta running stuff. For those who were at our Calema Midwinters , you will remember the starting horn I concocted . Our Race PRO Darren Roger’s who recently passed away was the last person sounding the horn for the very last race we ran. Great memories, thanks to all who made the annual trek.

We are clearing out all sorts of things from 25+ years at Kelly Park.. t shirts (printed and plain), some water shoes, Oofos, backpacks, even kitchen items like a meat slicer, microwave and LOTS of Watersports items - canoes, kayaks, paddles, life jackets, windsurfing gear, SUP's and sailboats. Come see us as we say goodbye to our Kelly Park location.
