Florida has now lost 87 children to drowning in 2026 — 20 in July alone.

These numbers are devastating, and they are a reminder that drowning prevention requires layers of protection.

Constant, active adult supervision
Self-rescue swim lessons
Barriers, locked doors and alarms
Remove Pet Doors
Bright-colored swimwear
Designated Water Watchers
CPR training

No single layer is enough. The more layers we put in place, the safer our children are.

Please help us continue to spread awareness. Drowning is preventable.
