On a cold Saturday night in Granger Indiana, nobody expected a ball to travel very far when it got hit. The sweet swing of Hannah Wilbanks (10U Indiana Magic Gold) had a different plan. She sent her 1st ever over the fence 💣 clear out of the park. It left so quickly that the ump gave the signal as she approached 1st base. Hannah has been working really hard at getting a little bit of lift under her swing at her hitting lessons. You don’t have to the biggest or strongest to go yard you just need that sweet swing. Congrats on . More to come I’m quite sure.

This past Saturday in Crown Point, Mia DiFiore (16U Indiana Gators Talley) sends another 💣 over the centerfield fence. This is Mia’s 2nd one this fall and, again, it was a no doubter. The ump signaled it before she got to 1st base. You are having a great fall season Mia. Congrats and stay 🔥.

Alice Estrada (16U Impact) subbing with 18U NWI Rockers makes a great catch on this pop foul. As you can tell by her head that she found the ball quite fast. As I always remind my catchers, the higher the ball goes up it almost always spins back towards the infield on the way down. You can see this takes place as Alice has to back peddle towards the infield on the catch. Nice read on the ball Alice.

OMG, now 2 people I know ran and finished the Chicago Marathon this past weekend. Jamie Turlay (Dad to Emmaline) said to himself, “I can do this” and set his mind to finish the race. As one can imagine, it takes a lot of training to be able to finish a 26.2 race. Congrats to you Jamie and love the mustache.

Love posting Sophia Kralj’s (12U NWI Lady Vipers) hits. She absolutely puts a hurt on every ball. On this double to right field, Sophia drove in the game tying run that sent the game to extra innings. Dad reports that Sophia’s bat was on 🔥 this weekend. Great to hear AND the Lady Vipers came in second in this tournament. Way to help the team and have a great weekend at the plate.

I had my 1st catcher lesson with Lily Jamieson (12U FP Elite) this week. We focused on proper release of the ball so wouldn’t curve away to the left. Pretty obvious that Lily went home and practiced as is shown in the 2 videos. I really love her response when the out call was made. It shows her love for the game. Mom reports that Lily caught 30 innings over this past weekend. WOW. That will make getting out of bed on Monday tough to do. Great job Lily.

A hearty congrats to Kelsey Pattee (Mom to Aubrey) on her Chicago Marathon run AND finish yesterday. Kelsey ran the 26.2 mile race for team RB (Rob Bohacik). Rob passed away last year from cancer. I have no idea where you got the time to train for 26.2 mile on a regular basis Kelsey. Great job, great finish, great cause.

Congrats to the 12U NWI Lady Vipers on their USSSA second place win this weekend in Crown Point. After a 1-3 pool play start, the team got the momentum going in bracket and finished 3-1. Could have let the 1-3 start take them out of the tourney but they had a bigger plan. Great job ladies.

Congrats to Addison Nowacki and Julia Maxwell (14U Nightmares) on their 14U C USSSA tourney win this weekend in Crown Point. They were 3-1 in pool and won both of their bracket games to come away victorious on the weekend. Nothing like a bit of bling on the finger to cap the long weekend. Congrats ladies.

Earlier this past week, Ella Nowacki (12U Lady Dukes) fires the ball to second and gets the runner with a bit of room to spare. Ella work very hard on her catching and hitting and it has been showing. Great job Ella.
