For the individual we offer any personal martial arts need met; whether it be training, equipment, or wisdom. Friends of Ryukyu,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. Sadly, the man behind the curtain, the one responsible for creating this store and keeping it going for the last fifty years... Mr. Bill Wiswell, has passed away. I've known this man for almost four years, and can definitively say that he was quite literally the heart and soul of this company.

Bill was one of the first students of Taika Oyata, and carried on teaching Ryukyu Kenpo for years. Over time his passion for the martial arts evolved into a love of all literature regarding the arts. With time, patience, and a great deal of personal passion, he amassed enough books to be one of the largest distributors of martial arts information in the world.

His students, and students of students still teach Oyata's form of Kenpo, and shall continue to do so for many years to come. This is definitely a major blow to the martial arts community and all those who knew and loved him.

Close friends and students: there will be a memorial in his honor Saturday the 14th. We ask that anyone who wishes to give a speech, please write these down, so that we can save them to better remember our close friend.
