This summer, Deb and Sam (far right in photo one), a mother-son duo relived a core memory theirs - inflatable kayaking the Salmon River! Deb shared this photo of their first river experience with Orange Torpedo Trips in August of 1986.

Amazing whitewater, beautiful lodges, and a ton of fun! Sometimes we like to get a little silly out there!

We just got back from a FABULOUS Hells Canyon trip!

Perfect weather, a great crews, and great “first” memories made for just about everyone.

The highlights of the trip from both the guest and guide perspective:

- The Whitewater (Wild Sheep & Waterspout rapids were BIG!)
- The Scenery (Our necks still hurt from looking up!)
- The Fishing (Bass & Sturgeon galore!)
- The History (Historic cabins, pictographs)
- The Food (Fresh-Caught Bass Tacos were a crowd favorite)
- The Memories (Too many to count…)

We paddled, kayaked, hiked, laughed, and slept under the stars. We’re so excited to grow here in Hells Canyon, this first trip was a blast and one we will always remember, a great first chapter in this era! It’s so hard to show how much fun we had in a short post, but once you take a peek it’ll be hard not to want to experience it in person!

Hells Canyon - We’ve arrived!

We have finally finalized the paperwork and are now one of only 9 commercial outfitters to run guided river trips on the snake River through Hells Canyon - the deepest river gorge in North America!

Class IV “Big water” whitewater, now the biggest rapids on any trip that we offer. Wildlife, history, fishing, hiking - you name the activity, we have it! From thousand foot high easy-to-hike vistas, through the big whitewater, to the catch of a lifetime, there is an activity to satisfy every goal, and opportunity to learn something new on every trip.

We are slowly gathering ourselves for a late start 2026 season. With a couple Multi-Day trips, and a handful of single-day trips, there is still time to get in on the action!

We have openings for the 7/18 3-day 2-night trip, full of hiking, history, whitewater, camping, and fishing. Or - if you are in a time crunch and want as much action as you can get in a short timeframe - join us on one of the OTT-Exclusive full-day class IV whitewater rafting trips.

We are now the only outfitter in Hells Canyon with the capability to operate such a unique trip. Raft the most exciting rapids of the canyon, enjoy an amazing lunch, and take a jet boat ride back up through the rapids to the put-in!

We have partnered with Killgore Adventures , the best Jet Boat Outfitter in Hells Canyon to make this amazing trip possible!

These are combo trips, meaning you can row your own raft through 80 miles of Idaho’s deepest canyon or ride with our guides.
