Meridian Blues Announce Bryan Frichter as 2026 Field Manager
Former United League MVP Brings Championship Pedigree and Player-First Leadership to Expansion Franchise
Meridian, Mississippi — The Meridian Blues of the Mid America League are proud to announce the hiring of Bryan Frichter as the franchise’s first Field Manager. Frichter, a former Meridian Community College and Southeastern Louisiana standout, as well as United League Baseball Most Valuable Player, will lead the Blues into their inaugural season at Skaggs Field beginning in May 2026.
Frichter brings a championship mindset and a proven record of excellence at the professional level. During his time with the San Angelo Colts, he earned league MVP honors after batting .387 with 12 home runs and 29 stolen bases while helping lead the Colts to a 48–32 regular-season championship. He previously captured United League Rookie of the Year honors after hitting .349 in his debut season.
Known for his work ethic, competitiveness, and ability to connect with players, Frichter transitions into the dugout with a strong understanding of player development, preparation, and clubhouse leadership. His experience competing at a high level provides valuable insight into building winning culture, accountability, and consistency on and off the field.
In addition to his professional playing background, Frichter currently operates 81 Baseball in Meridian, where he works directly with youth and amateur players on skill development, fundamentals, and preparation. His involvement in the local baseball community further reflects his commitment to developing the next generation of players both on and off the field.

As Field Manager, Frichter will oversee all on-field operations including game strategy, player development, staff coordination, and competitive preparation. He will also serve as a key ambassador for the Blues throughout the Meridian community as the organization builds excitement ahead of Opening Day.

The Meridian Blues join the Mid America League as part of the league’s continued expansion and commitment to bringing high-quality summer baseball to growing markets across the region. The Blues will compete against franchises in Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Mississippi during the 2026 season.
Launched in 2024, the Mid America League has quickly become one of the premier summer baseball leagues in the region, featuring elite collegiate players and post-collegiate athletes pursuing professional opportunities.
