Alright mule deer hunters. I’m curious here too.

What is your optics setup of choice for chasing mule deer?

Optics make a massive difference on a western mule deer hunt. However, just HAVING great optics doesn't replace learning how to use them. I'd hunt with someone who knows how to spot deer with cheap optics, than someone who bring the best optics money can buy, but doesn't know how to use them

I love hunting with people who are better than me at spotting those sly grey ghosts, as I take it as a personal challenge to spot game faster and more often. There is simply no replacement for getting good at spotting deer other than doing it.

It always amazes me how they can hide, and right when you think there is nothing in the canyon, they appear out of nowhere.
