Share to inspire!
There are two main ways to share on Social Media: share to inspire or share to brag about. Please don't worry about scrolling down if you feel I fall into the second category.
My goal is to share so that people like me who are busy but committed to living a healthy life can learn how to achieve both—build a career/organization/business and take care of our most important asset, which is nothing but our body.
I started my renewed health and fitness journey on July 15th, 2024. It’s not about building a six-pack body; it's about living a healthy life where I have the energy and stamina to do what I love to do daily. It’s about cleaning up my lifestyle instead of anything else. Five things I found are essential to achieving your health and fitness goals.
1. Sleep 6 to 8 hours a day. I only used to sleep 4-5 hours a day and am now committed to sleeping 6-7 hours daily. One should sleep at least 6 hours and a maximum of 8 hours, ideally 7 hours a day.
2. Protein Intake. I’ve started taking 1 gram of protein of my body weight. Being vegetarian makes it hard to find enough protein, but I’m committed to eating 150 grams daily. For you, without worrying too much about any calculation, if your weight is between 145 and 185 lbs (65 to 80 kgs), eat 100 to 150 grams of protein.
3. Walking 10,000 steps a day. It was always easy for me to achieve this goal. 10,000 steps is equal to 5 miles or 8 km of walking.
4. Strength Training. I go to the gym at least three times a day. I suggest doing some kind of strength training. If you are a beginner and want to start, just send me a message, and I can help.
5. Cutting down alcohol. In my case, I have completely stopped drinking alcohol. For you, it might not be possible; see if you can reduce it to once in a while (like once a week, once a month, or some special occasions), and that, too, stick to only 1-2 drinks.
There is a bonus item, which was never a problem for me. Any refined flour-based food or sugar shoots up your blood sugar, and it doesn’t help the body in any way. I have never been a big fan of bread or sweets, so it’s easy for me to follow.
Try all this for six months with me and see where we reach together. My goal and commitment is to continue sharing so that you know your buddy, Jeet, is here every step of the way. The below photo is from my workout today and I will surely share my progress with you all as we go through this journey together.
Let’s go, everyone. We got this. Love you all.
