How much protein does your 15-year-old actually need? Most parents wildly underestimate this.
A teenage male athlete training four to five days a week needs between 1.2 and 2.0 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day.
For a 150-pound kid, that’s 82 to 136 grams of protein a day. Every day.
For context, most teenage athletes are getting 40 to 60 grams. Half of what they need.
Here’s how that breaks down in real food:
Breakfast: three eggs, one cup of Greek yogurt. That’s 30 grams.
Lunch: grilled chicken sandwich, glass of milk. That’s 40 grams.
Post-training snack: protein shake with milk and a banana. That’s 30 grams.
Dinner: six ounces of beef or chicken with rice and veggies. That’s 45 grams.
Evening: cottage cheese with honey or a second protein shake. That’s 20 grams.
That’s 165 grams in a day. Completely doable with normal food.
If your kid is “eating a lot” but isn’t getting stronger, track his protein for three days. You’ll be shocked how far off he actually is.
Muscle doesn’t build without the building blocks. You can’t pray a steak into existence.

We’re kicking off our summer workout season for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders beginning May 5th!

🗓 Days: Monday & Tuesday
⏰ Time: After school – 5:30 PM
📍 Location: High School Weight Room

This is a great opportunity to get stronger, faster, and more prepared for the upcoming season. Whether you're a skill player or lineman — this is where the work starts.
Requirements:
Must wear athletic clothing
Proper athletic shoes required

Come ready to work, improve, and compete. This is where we build the foundation.
