Together-- student, instructors, families, customize this process to attain the outcomes that meet your personal goals, and expectations. We are located in downtown Mercer Island, in the 77 Central Building. We have been actively involved in training, and contributing to the Mercer Island and surrounding communities since 1997. We have a good deal of students from the Bellevue and Seattle area, as they can reach us on I-90 in about 10 minutes. We also have many students from surrounding areas. Some drive from as far as Lynnwood, and Kent to come to our school. Once you have tried our program, you will understand why folks are willing to drive to get here. You want the right people to teach you the powerful skills to protect yourself, your family, and to build much more than muscle. What a historic day for Mercer Island! 🚆✨
Today marked the arrival of our light rail, and the energy was incredible. Thousands of people came out to celebrate this exciting milestone for our community. It was amazing to see so many families and neighbors show up and be part of the day.
We were there, and our students put on an amazing demonstration—we couldn’t be prouder of how well they did! So many people stopped by our booth to say hello, and we even had the chance to reconnect with some former students, which made it even more special.
We are so excited to have been a part of this incredible day!

Join us this Saturday, March 28th 10 am-2 pm for the opening for the light rail. Our students will be doing a demonstration! Come check it out!

We hope to see you this Saturday, March 28, for the Mercer Island Station Opening Celebration, with activities centered at the Park and Ride lot across the street from the new station. If you plan to attend, here is info on getting there and where to park.

If you want to go car-free, consider taking King County Metro’s Dart Route 204, which operates from South Mercer Island, along Island Crest Way, to the P&R lot. Biking is also a good option: BikeLink storage lockers are available at the Town Center Parking Area (7810 SE 27th St) and the Park and Ride lot for just $.05 per hour.

If you’re driving, the following parking locations are available (in addition to free two-hour on-street parking in Town Center):

P&R Lot (Lower Level) has 200 spaces. Note that the upper deck will be closed from 7 a.m. on Friday to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday to stage the event (except for ADA parking).

Mercer Island Community & Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St, Mercer Island, has 120 spaces.

Town Center Parking Area has 33 spaces. The first two hours are free with registration; $2.50/hour up to $12.50 daily maximum.

We are so excited to celebrate Instructor Shan-Tia Booker as she becomes a 3rd Degree Black Belt! 🥋
Shan-Tia has been training here at Mercer Island Martial Arts since she was just nine years old. Over the years, we have watched her grow not only into an exceptional martial artist but into an incredible leader and role model for the next generation of students walking through our doors.
Her dedication, perseverance, and heart for our community inspire everyone around her. Watching her reach this milestone has been truly special for all of us.
We could not be prouder of her and all that she has accomplished. Congratulations, Shan-Tia! 👏
