We LOVE seeing kiddos try something new and FUN! 💪 💕 42 girls, including 16 Girl Scouts 💚, suited up and joined us this afternoon for Girls Try Hockey for Free!

We, the Ozaukee Youth Hockey Association, will offer additional Try Hockey for Free events this Sept 12, 19, and 26 for both girls and boys! RSVP will be open soon at: https://ozaukeehockey.com/club/newtohockey

Boys and Girls team opportunities for Fall development 👇

Tryouts are coming up in just a few weeks at our regional sites across Wisconsin! The time to register for tryouts is NOW! Registration numbers are super important in order for our GMs to plan for teams, coaches, etc.

• Regional teams providing “team” practices - focused on player development
• League schedule that facilitates other sports and activities.
• Cost effective structure - not “pricing out” families.
• National Bound Tier 2 at 14U & 16U Girls and Girls High School.
• MN Prospects Tier 2 League scheduling

This week, we were honored to dedicate our skate rental counter at Ozaukee Ice Center as the “Gene Wagner Skate Shack” in celebration of Gene Wagner’s 99th birthday. Pictured above is Gene hugging Deb Donovan, our lovely rink managers’ mother.💙🏒

Gene has been a longtime member of the Ozaukee Ice Center family, a founding member of the Bald Eagles, and a familiar face around the rink for generations of skaters. His passion for hockey and dedication to our community continue to inspire us all.

A special shoutout to Oliver for also being selected to the WAHA Central District High Performance Team — an incredible accomplishment!

We also want to congratulate former OYHA ladies players Elizabeth Bowers, Natalie Donovan, Elena Loomans, and Violet Spors for earning spots on Team Wisconsin Girls.

Per tradition, we’re honored to pay tribute to the youth athletes that are graduating from our youth hockey program 💙🏒

Join us in celebrating our 2025-26 14U players—athletes who have grown not only in skill, but in character, teamwork, and love for the game. From early mornings at the rink to unforgettable moments on the ice, you’ve created memories that will always be a part of this program.

While this chapter comes to a close, your journey is just beginning. We are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see where the game takes you next.

💖 Try the sport that brought home the gold for the US Olympic Women🥇and the NCAA DI championship trophy for University of Wisconsin Women’s Hockey 🏆! OYHA is hosting a FREE Girls Try Hockey for Free on Saturday, May 30 from 1-2pm for all girls aged 4-14 years! We have the equipment and the guidance. Just bring your curiosity and an adult! All attendees will also receive a free open skate pass for future use at the Ozaukee Ice Center, too. (Also, any existing Girl Scout will receive a hockey-themed fun patch! Just bring your uniform.)
