About Neil Conway
Hockey Bio:
Neil is currently goaltender for the Toledo Walleye of East Coast Hockey League. He grew up in Painesville, Ohio playing for the Mentor Cardinals, Euclid Panthers, and CSC Chargers. He then played for the Cleveland Barons and Pittsburgh Hornets before moving to Stouffville, Ontario at the age of 15 to play Jr. From there Neil was drafted to the Ontario Hockey Le
ague, (OHL) and played for the Owen Sound Attack and Oshawa Generals. Neil then went on to play at Saint Maryβs University in Halifax, Nova Scotia completing his Bachelorβs Degree in Business. He has now completed his 3rd season of professional hockey at the βAAβ level as well as playing a season in Europe for the Nottingham Panthers. Coaching:
Neil has over 12 years of coaching experience. He has been coaching goaltenders in Toronto since the age of 15. Neil is currently the Director of Goaltending with Ohio Hockey Project. His approach and style of the game emphasize using a modern technical approach with an emphasis on athleticism. Hockey is an ever evolving game becoming faster and faster. No matter how big goalies get they will always have to be athletes and be reactive. Positioning is critical to a goaltender and they have to be able to get around the crease efficiently and effectively giving themselves the best possible chance of success.
