🔥 RECORD BREAKING YEAR FOR MENTOR YOUTH WRESTLING 🔥

We are incredibly proud to announce that the Mentor Youth Wrestling Club is sending a CLUB RECORD 12 OAC Grade School State Qualifiers to compete at the State Wrestling Championships! 💪🤼‍♂️

These young athletes have put in countless hours on the mat, showing toughness, discipline, and heart all season long. Their dedication has paid off, and they’ve earned the opportunity to compete at the highest level.

Our veteran wrestlers wrapped up their season with Coach Hannah Beyond Development today and we couldn’t be more appreciative of her expertise, coaching and guidance post season.

We surprised her with singlets, flowers, gift cards and a framed singlet for her wall.

The team did an awesome job at the BWA Championship today! Every wrestler who qualified had at least 1 victory. Jack McCall and Keelan Santos both finished as runner ups in their 32 man brackets. Kolton Brindley (5 wins on the day!) finished in third place.

Anthony Miklos won 4 matches.

Cai Rodia, Owen Bernes, and Ben Miklic had 3 wins.

Payton O’Bryan and Colin Krivacic had 2 wins.

Abe Kirk had 1 win.

This tournament was as tough as they come and we could not be more proud of how the boys competed.

9 of our 10 qualifiers come back next season! Can’t wait to see what we accomplish here next year!

🏆 BWA Northeast Sectional Tournament Results 🏆

Mentor Youth Wrestling Club put together a strong performance at the BWA Northeast Sectional Tournament, finishing 3rd out of 16 teams — despite having five empty spots in the lineup. An impressive team effort from top to bottom. Ten wrestlers qualified for the BWA Championshionship at Kent State next week!

This morning I told the team that some days are more important than others and they responded in full force! The kids cranked up the intensity and it showed on the mat when it mattered most.

🥈 2nd Place:
Anthony Miklos (86)

🥉 3rd Place:
Payton O’Bryan (49), Cai Rodia (52), Owen Bernes (56)

Ben Miklic (95), Abe Kirk (105)

6️⃣ 6th Place:
Lucas Strodbeck (110)

💪 Strong Performances & Wins:
Wesley Lazar (60 – 2 wins), Sam Meyer (79 – 1 win)

⭐ BWA All-Star Tournament Results ⭐

Mentor Youth Wrestling Club wrapped up the BWA All-Star Tournament with an outstanding combined record of 45-21, earning the best winning percentage of any team at the tournament. A fantastic way to finish the season!

This event also marks the end of our beginner season, and we couldn’t be more proud of the growth we’ve seen from this group. The improvement over the season has been incredible. The future is bright!

🏆 Ohio Novice State Tournament Results 🏆

We had an amazing day at the Ohio Novice State Tournament in Toledo on Saturday, February 7th! Out of 203 teams, Mentor finished an impressive 7th overall — a huge team accomplishment.

6️⃣ 6th Place: Sam Meyer, Ava Williams
