Austin "1st Place Ace" Edwards

Austin "1st Place Ace" Edwards 21 years old - West coast racer, spotter, mechanic, and anything else involved in motorsports. He soon began racing at the Madera speedway in the all new Jr.

Austin Edwards, age 12, competed at Adams Track in Riverside, from age 5 to age 8. As a result of competing distinctly at tracks throughout the southwest, Austin became the 2015 California INEX Bandolero champion. Driving at tracks such as The Vegas Bullring, Irwindale Speedway, Havasu 95 Speedway and his home track, Orange Show Speedway located in San Bernardino, where he has become the youngest

ever track champion. Making a jump to full size racecars, he made history early on, becoming the youngest driver to ever compete in a South West Tour Truck series race. Late Model series at age 11, where he was always a front contender, won a single race, and remained in the points chase every single season. In the unpredictable year of 2020, Austin made his way into 4 divisions of racing- including a return to the South West Tour Truck Series, a first two attempts in a USAC Focus Midget, a first full season in the NASA Spec Miata Series, and his first attempt at dirt racing at Wheel2wheel Raceway. He managed top 3’s in every division and snatched two wins in the tour truck series, proving the point that he can drive anything he gets into

Austin puts an important behind his racing career, and raises awareness by speaking to the race fans and collecting donations for a local no kill shelter located in Yucaipa, CA. Since his 9th birthday, Austin has collected over $20,000 for Yucaipa Animal Placement Society. In the 2021 race season, Covid complications caused Austin to be out of the seat for the entirety of the year. He plans on taking the year to jump ahead in school, find his first job, help other upcoming drivers through spotting and driver coaching, and generally be at the racetrack every chance he gets. Hey everyone! I haven't given a life update on this page in a while, or properly told everyone what my plan is for 2024, so here it is.

I've been focusing mostly on school and finances, and other adult stuff I'm learning how to do now that I'm 19. I'll be completing college this year and starting a new job very soon. Driving is still very rare for me, but I plan on making a few random starts this season when time and money permits.

This year, I'm going all out on the mechanical side of racing and helping several drivers for a full season in cars like Legends, Late Model’s, some 4 cylinders, and whatever else comes up along the way. I've found a talent with my ability in driver coaching and chassis setup, and this year I'll be using those skills to build and establish our new west coast "team".

To keep up with what I'm up to this year, be sure to give EHP Racing a follow and support all the amazing drivers I get to support this season.

I may not have become a professional driver like I had once planned, but I love this sport and have found a way to stay a part of it in a different field.

I'm extremely thankful for everyone's support throughout the years as I tried to make my way through the ranks of motorsports, and I assure you the experiences I was fortunate to have at a young age has set me up for great success regardless - just in a different form.

It's been a blast to help out the next generation of drivers these past couple years.

Linked here is an in car camera for Ashton Leonard, who was nearly on par with the times of the pro late models last race. I've had the privilege of helping Ashton the past two months, and he's been an extraordinary example of raw talent.

We're looking forward to the Night of Fire next weekend in Las Vegas, where Ashton will be racing with some improved horsepower numbers, chasing his 3rd and 4th stock car wins along with a shot in the championship.

Drivers, I urge you to reflect on your careers and be thankful for what you have.

I spent my entire life behind the wheel, but 2023 marks my second year with very rare occasions of racing for me. It took the end of my racing "career" to realize how lucky I was to be pursuing what I was, and the amount of hard work that really goes into motorsports. Thousands upon thousands of dollars, seemingly endless weeks of work, blood, sweat, tears, heartbreak, frustration, you name it. It is without question one of the most demanding sports on the planet, and not a single driver can successfully do it alone.

Luckily, racing taught me an even bigger lesson. Nowadays, I'm thankful to be a part of this sport in any way, with every other diverse role I've taken on since 2021.

I hope this example will act as a reminder for all who read this. Always pursue bigger things, but be grateful for what you have. We are often luckier than we think.

Although I'm not as active on social media as I used to be, I feel like this photo drew me towards speaking a few words about charity. I highly encourage all members of motorsports, and all sports and hobbies in general, to support a cause of any kind throughout their aspirations.

Since it's so easy to get caught up in the busy days of our daily lives, it can be easy to forget that there are people out there who need and deserve help...

Or, as it was through my aspirations, it was all the furry friends at our local shelters seeking their forever homes.

I was reminded of this through today's "facebook memory" shown below, being published 8 years ago today. It was one of a few different articles that I was blessed to be a part of. I enjoyed every minute I got to spend around the people and animals at the Yucaipa Animal Placement Society, and I'm glad to see they are still thriving to this day.

Don't be afraid to make a difference. Big or small, they can change someone's world, and enough small impacts can truly change the whole world.

I finally got back behind the wheel this weekend!

It was a last minute ordeal to pilot the #9 car at the LVMS Bullring against a field of 29 cars. Out of the entire field, we had the least amount of horsepower with a previous-generation engine (1250) and quite possibly the oldest car on the track.

We kicked off the day with a series of chassis setup issues and a faulty steering system that took all day to fix. While the leaders were running lap times in the 16.5's, we had just pulled together a singular 17.4 by the end of our heat race.

In the main event, after another huge swing of adjustments, a newly-welded steering system and tons of help from the 7zero2 Motorsports crew, we started off in 26th.

We dodged several crashes, ran our best lap at a 16.9, and ended the night in 14th despite the car facing intense vibrations under braking and still being very unstable all race long.

It was a long day, but I had a blast being back in the drivers seat. A huge thanks to Julian for trusting me with his ride and letting me find some more speed in it. There's still more to be gained and that's exactly what we plan to do soon 🏁

Hey Facebook. Long time no see!

I wanted to put an update out there for anyone who thinks I might’ve fallen off the edge of the earth after stepping away from racing after my final race in early March.

On Tuesday, I graduated high school. It was a rough final couple months, since a number of life events had put me behind, and I was taking on the workload to complete school one year early. I succeeded, one year early, with honor roll. I will be continuing my college courses this summer as I had been in the middle of high school already, and plan on receiving an associates degree in multimedia no later than 2024.

On Wednesday, my family and I completed our move from Southern California to Central California. You can expect to see me visiting Sonoma much more often, and I’m nearby a number of great short tracks that had once been a 6-7 hour drive to reach.

We already miss all the great people in SoCal, since that’s where we have all lived for what seems like forever. Luckily, there are some amazing people up here, too.

In the midst of all these changes, I’m still spending lots of time racing virtually and making a small profit off of such, while helping out thousands of iRacers through my “ERS” community run through the discord app.

You can still find me at the races at tracks like Madera and Las Vegas- without a steering wheel. I’ve found a talent in spotting, driver coaching, and doing all the work underneath racecars as I have on my own throughout my life already.

We’ve taken on a lot of sudden changes, but the number of things falling into place show that some good things might be up ahead for my family and I. An incredible number of family and friends have kept us afloat, and have now helped us venture into something new.

Those people know who they are, no matter how big or small the help might’ve been. Thank you.

When it comes to racing, I don’t know what’s next. I will always be involved in the sport in some way, but finances simply don’t allow for me to drive anything at this time. There are possibilities quietly in the works, but it is likely going to be a hobby rather than a potential career from now on. Of course, anything is possible. I’m taking things on day by day, and seeing what the world offers me, and going from there.

If anything exciting comes about, or I find my way back into the drivers seat, you’ll surely hear about it from this page as soon as it happens.

Patience is key, my friends. The worst days always find a way to turn into the best days.
