Not much to say about tonight at Cedar Lake Speedway. Track was really good all night long with multiple grooves. Dad struggled to dial in the setup all night and ended up 23rd in the feature. I struggled to find a way around cars all night but finally had something figured out and started moving forward in the later half of the race. Unfortunately with 5 to go I was working through traffic and had another car go from the wall to the bottom getting into 1 and I had nowhere to go. We got tangled up and we both went to the rear. My front end was messed up pretty good so I just limped it home to finish 20th. That’s just racing and they can’t all be good nights. Overall it was still a really fun weekend and hopefully we can do more traveling like this next season. We’ll rebuild and get ready for 141 Speedway on September 5th.

We’re hard at work getting both cars ready for Cedar Lake Speedway tonight!

We had a great time at Red Cedar Speedway! The track was beautiful all night long. We had 30 cars checked in with only 24 going to the A-main. Dad started 4th in his heat and finished 7th which put him in the B. He ran around in 6th for most of the B but had a great battle with the 00B and was able to pick up the 5th spot with a couple laps to go. On the final lap the 4th place car spun which gave the last transfer spot to dad. In the feature he got collected in in another car’s spin on the first lap which caused some front end damage. He spent the rest of the race nursing the car to the end and just trying to finish. At one point the car stepped out on him and he ended up stuck in a ditch on the infield. Once he got an assist from the tow truck he was able to get back at it and finish all of the laps and on the lead lap as well. He ended up 19th.

My night was solid. In the heat race I had some good hard racing with the 59S after we made some slight contact early in the race. I was able to bring the car home in 4th with a bunch of toe out. Luckily the only thing damaged was a steering arm so it was a quick and easy fix. In the feature I started 14th and brought it home in 9th. We had some really fast cars in the field last night so a top 10 is a decent night.

Tonight we will be at Cedar Lake Speedway where we anticipate another strong field of cars.

We had a great night at Angell Park Speedway. The track was beautiful all night with it being smooth and slick. I qualified 12th out of 24 cars which put me on the pole for the heat race. I was able to lead the whole thing and pick up the win. A huge thank you to N&S Towing and Josh Sorce for the extra money for the heat race winners. Josh is a great guy that does a lot for racing.

In the feature I started 2nd. With the track being on the slicker side we decided to tighten up the car a little for the feature. The track did a complete rework of the track before the midget feature which made me second guess my decision a little bit. I watched the first few laps of the midget feature and came to the conclusion that the track would come to me as the race went on. Sure enough, when the race started I felt way too tight for the first few laps. As the race went on and the track continued to blow off the better the car got. I was able to battle in the top 5 all race and brought it home in 4th place.

Dad had a solid night. He made some changes to the car after last night to try and get it a little more comfortable. He went from 6th to 6th in our heat race. In the feature he struggled a little bit as the track was very fast. He was able to bring it home in 20th after running a clean race.

Overall it was a great night. Angell Park did a great job of hustling the show through. Racing started at 6pm and was completed by 8:30pm. That even includes the 30 minutes that they took to completely rework the track between the heats and features.

Next weekend is a long haul for us. We will be at Red Cedar Speedway on Friday night and Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday night. We are very excited to visit both of these tracks again as we had good runs at both of them in our visits to each of them earlier this season.

Not the night that we were looking for but it was a fun first time at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay. Dad had an okay night but is fighting a really loose car right now. He ended up pulling off when the leaders came around to lap him in the feature.

For me my night started off solid as the car felt really good in the heat race. I was moving forward and about to start challenging for an invert spot when the car on my outside got loose and went from the top to the bottom and hit my right front. This broke one of the bolts going into the spindle which created an ill handling car. I fell back to 5th and fought a car with constantly changing toe out/toe in.

I’m lucky that I have one of the best crew chiefs/fathers out there and we were able to get the entire right front spindle changed between the heat and the feature. Unfortunately due to my poor finish in the heat this meant that I would be starting 15th in the feature. Once we rolled out I realized that starting positions were going to mean a lot tonight and I was right. I ended up going from 15th to 10th which gave me the hard charger award for the night.

Tomorrow we will be at Angell Park Speedway for one of our final “local” races of the season.

Thank you to Door County Ace Hardware for the extra money in the purse tonight. It means a lot to a little team like ours and it allows us to make these longer tows to these amazing tracks.

If you ever find yourself in the Door County area definitely make sure to check out The Hill. The facility is very nice and everyone we interacted with was very pleasant. The track turned out to be very good all night long. I hope that we are able to race there again in the future!
