Saying no when you want to say no
And saying yes when you want to say yes

It goes both ways.

I know in the past when I’ve said yes when I wanted to say no…the event would come up, whatever it was, and I would have so much anxiety.

I’ve made myself sick, had panic attacks, felt guilty for not speaking up for myself, the list goes on.

Just like saying yes when I want to say yes.

Even if it scares you, even if you’re not sure “how” or feel extreme discomfort (because what if it all goes wrong?)

But what if it all goes right?
What if there wasn’t a wrong?

You just go for it knowing that you made the best decision for yourself at that moment.

This is how I’ve been able to control a lot of my anxiety.

✨By focusing on my thoughts and choosing ones that serve me.
✨And by listening to myself.
(I don’t need to people please anymore because other people's opinions do not define my worth.)
✨I also love my reason for choosing my decision. I love why I said no. I love why I said yes. It’s as simple as that!

My worth is the same as everyone else because that’s how God made us all.
Worthy.
Worthy of love, worthy of a life you love, worthy of what you desire.

Commit to yourself and your word this week and see what changes come around for you. Whether it’s feeling good about yourself or a situation you’ll know you made the decision for you.

Do you have a morning routine you love?

One thing I know is when you want to start a new habit, it can be super exciting at first.

Then all of a sudden it becomes a lot of work and the newness dies down.

Then you're back at square one wondering what happened.

Here are some tips to create the best morning routine for yourself that will help you stick to it!

Remember you're a unique individual and what works for someone else might not work for you. (And that's okay!)

Do you allow yourself to rest and relax or do you feel guilty?

I used to always feel guilty and wouldn't allow myself to relax because I viewed that as being lazy.

Even though I own a business, have kids, animals, and more.

But if I were to take time to rest that would mean I'm lazy.

I was sick of being "busy busy busy"

Being busy is not a badge of honor.

I see being busy now as not being able to manage my time well.

This doesn't have to be a problem if you don't want it to be but for me, I like my rest & alone time.

I like to rest and relax without feeling guilty.

Or without spending the whole time "resting" thinking I should be doing something else.

I got a massage the other day (Thanks Sherri ) and I was able to enjoy every single minute of it.

I wasn't thinking about things that make me worry.
I wasn't thinking about when it was going to end and what I had to do for the rest of the day.

I was in the moment of relaxation of getting a prenatal massage.
It was amazing and I get to have another next week.

Just like when I'm with my kids, I want to be present with them. When I read them a book or teach them I want to be fully there.

I want to be a role model for them.

I want to be the mom that can be present for her kids and I am.

No, I'm definitely not perfect. Some days I don't feel like reading them the same stories 8 million times in a row. (Pete the Cat........ 😂)

Those days I let my kids know how I'm feeling and what we can do differently.

You don't always have to bend over backwards for your kids. You don't want to teach them that you'll be at their beck and call 24/7.

Sometimes Evan will say "I'm bored" and I tell him it's okay to be bored. This is where you can let your imagination run wild.

Then he's able to solve his own problems without me.

Here's what you can do:
Get curious about why you feel guilty in the first place. Where does that feeling come from for you?
Do you like that or do you want to change it?
If you want to change it, what are some steps you can take to make that change?

If you want more support, I'm here for you♥️

Real talk: being a mom isn't ALWAYS fun.

Who would have thought? 😉

For those times when you're just *done* and *over it* here are some simple thoughts to keep in your back pocket.

These thoughts make me feel calmer and less agitated. Less likely to make myself feel like crap for yelling at my kids because I can't keep my own emotions in line.

Taking a break in my opinion is not only okay but necessary.

And not a "I need to go cry in the bathroom for 5 minutes break" a real break.

I do time-in's with my kids, not time-outs. They can color, read a book, play with their stuffed animals, do a puzzle, whatever they need to do to calm down.

And this is what it should look like for yourself too. (as in, a time-in for you, color, journal, read a few pages in your book, take a nice break to calm yourself down)

It's so hard to think when emotions are running high.

When you calm yourself down and when your kid can calm themself down you can both communicate so much better.

You can be that role model for your kids that you want to be.

And I can help you get there. ♥️

Do you involve your kids in your work?

There really is no right or wrong answer, just what you're comfortable with.

When I had the dog daycare I liked to involved my kids with my work but it was hard because a lot of dogs are uneasy with little kids.

But I always let the puppies meet the boys and yes it was as adorable as it sounds.

In this picture from 2018 I took Evan to one of the many vendor events we attended.

He came to a lot of them starting when he was about 4 months old.

He loved running around, seeing the dogs, being on this golf cart, and just being with his family.

Now without worrying about their safety, I can involve my kids in whatever I want with my business.

I choose things they would enjoy because I don't want to bore them 😂

I love thinking of their quality of time just like I do with myself.

Sure I could force them to be with my everywhere and show up when I do videos, but why?

If they think it's fun, sure, but for the most part they're little kids that find it boring.

Although they do like to wave to people during zoom meetings which is okay with me!

I love being able to make this choice for myself, my business, and my kids.

If you choose to, how do you involve kids in your business?

You don't have to create self worth in yourself, you have to uncover it.

Your worth as a human is already at 100%, it's how you and I were born.

But so many of us have covered up our self worth by other beliefs we were taught growing up or recently.

If you're not aware of what you're telling yourself, especially as a kid, you can hold on to those beliefs for the rest of your life without even realizing it.

Here are some tips to start uncovering your already worthiness so you are aware of how wonderful you already are.

✨Understand why (understanding why with anything can help you heal from it faster).
✨Self-trust exercise that will help you trust your decision making skills.
✨Practice makes perfect is a saying for a reason. The more you practice, the better you'll be.

What's your go-to for uncovering your self-worth? Add on to the tip list and help someone change their life ♥️

How much do you question of yourself?

The other night, after my many trips to the bathroom, my mind was thinking of all the things and I stopped myself.

I was like, "Melissa, is that really true?"

"Is this really what you want to be thinking and believing, especially in the middle of the night?"

This is what anxiety can look like.

I use the tools I have as a life coach to stop it in its tracks.

Then not even 5-10 minutes later I was back asleep.

Not worrying about whatever I was worrying about.

I was able to stay curious with myself.
Be aware of what I was thinking and feeling and choose with intention whether or not I wanted to keep thinking and feeling what I was.

I decided I would rather get some sleep.

Noticing thoughts and thinking patterns in the moment, being self-aware, and having self-compassion will allow you to stop the overthinking.

It's helped my anxiety SO MUCH and I love it.

This is a skill I've been working on for a while now and I am so glad I am taking the time to develop mastery of it.

It's something I teach my clients and it's something I can teach you.

It's help my anxiety SO MUCH and I love it.

This can help you too.
You don't have to suffer in silence.
You don't have to go through this alone.

I'm here for you. ♥️

Something we all do is seek out pleasure and avoid pain.

It's how our brains are wired.

Everything we do is to feel a certain way, so by nature we're all selfish, even when we love helping others (because helping others makes us feel good).

Here's a reminder and a few tips to help you on your journey to feeling better.

I love to give tips and advice that are going to help you in the long run.

The work I do is work that will be with you and skills you learn for the rest of your life.

When you master the skill of feeling better, you can handle anything life throws at you.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to this pretty lady.

Keep reading for more life inspiration and of course some questions to ask yourself ♥️

This is my Great Grandma Marie (I always just called her grandma though)

It's her heavenly birthday today so I wanted to put a special message on here about LIFE!

First I want to say it would be pretty wild if I gave birth to my Marie on my grandma Marie's birthday - the woman she's named after!

The house isn't quite ready yet though so hold tight Marie but if you're ready, the house can and will wait 😂

I was just talking to my mother in law the other day about how we both wish we would have asked more questions.

More questions about how our loved ones grew up, what they spent their time doing, their likes, just everything!

It blows my mind how far we've come with technology in the last hundred years. How much we've accomplished as humans.

And it all started with a simple thought.

A simple idea.

A belief they had in themselves that carried their thought to reality.

You have as much access to this as anyone.

Your ideas you have are brilliant and unique.

Your passions you have are your for a reason and this world wants you to share them.

I know being a mom, especially with young kids, can seem like your entire life and there's no room for anything else.

But that's also just a thought.
And it's a thought blocking you from your potential.

I know the thought of success for some is scary.

"What if I do make it?"
"What will my friends and family think of me?"
"Will people judge me?"

All the self doubt, excuses, limiting beliefs will come up.

When these questions come up, because they will, how will you overcome them?

How will you keep going and keep showing up?
Let me know what keeps you going even with the inner critic telling you to shut it down it may help someone keep going today ♥️
