Hello Ladies! For those of you who love yard sales, I’m hosting a nickel auction at my house on Friday, March 1st, at 6:00 pm. If you’ve never heard of a nickel auction, here are some details.
1. Only women allowed! No men or children. Sorry!
2. Bring a chair.
3. Bring some heavy duty recyclable bags to carry your winnings in.
4. Bring your dinner if you want to eat something in particular. I will be providing beverages and some snacks.
5. Bring money. Preferably change (no, you don’t have to bring a whole bag of nickels). $20’s may be hard to break. 6. It may run late. The last one I went to ended past midnight! However you may leave at any time. Just make sure you pay your tab before you leave.
There will be several sellers selling their stuff individually. Bids start at a nickel, unless the seller is requesting a minimum bid. This usually happens when it’s an expensive item. If you think the minimum bid is too high, you simply don’t bid. If while you’re bidding you decide you don’t want to bid any higher, say pass. Whomever is the highest bidder wins that item. You call out your name and how much you won it for. A designated person will be keeping tabs on everyone’s total. So it’s important that they can hear you. As soon as that item is handed to the winner, it’s off limits to bid on, so think fast! Then on it’s to the next item. As soon as the seller is out of things to sell, your name and totals are called out. So please listen. A bowl is passed out for you to put your money and grab change if needed. Then we’re on to the next seller.
That’s all I can think of right now. If I remember anything else, I’ll post it. If you have any questions, I’ll be more than happy to answer them. Hope to see everyone and Happy bidding!
