Our daily lives tend to lead us all on a wild journey and with all the chaos that goes on, we as human beings don’t take the time as we should to count our blessings. The past few days have gave us time to reflect and count our blessings at Antler Crave.
We had an amazing opportunity to help out a young man that has put up an incredibly valiant fight with health concerns. His incredible outlook on life, family and hunting shined bright as we got to know him and his family during this experience.
The first day out led us to some incredible encounters with some great deer but the shot opportunity just wasn’t there. As we gathered back at the lodge in the evening, his smile still lit up the room even though we had not harvested a deer. All we could do is reminisce about the day and pray that the good Lord would bless us with another opportunity on day two.
Day two started out incredibly slow for deer movement but as the wind settled and the sun starting to give way to the moon our prayers were answered. With his dad, Dean by his side and family starting to gather back at the lodge. The “Click” of the Tikka .308 safety meant the opportunity that we all prayed for had arrived. And as the sound of the gun rang throughout the pines, Wade had dropped a true giant.
This Hunt wasn’t just about the harvest of an incredible animal. It was about Life, Family, Friends, the Local Communities and Our Daily Blessings that One takes for granted. It’s a memory that we will all have forever and if one day you find yourself in a struggle... just simply stop and look around. You have so many loved ones around you and each one of us have been blessed in our own ways.
Mr. Wade Salo, we at Antler Crave love you and look up to you, and Thank You for being a shining moment in our lives.
God Bless You My Friend!
