Regarding Arkansas new regulation about the early velvet buck hunts.

If wanting to preserve the velvet on antlers for a euro of shoulder mount follow steps:

1. Do not drag deer out by antlers, your friction and heat from your hand will damage the velvet.

2. Bring your velvet buck straight to me or your taxidermist of your choice the same day. If you cannot the same day, the antlers will need to be froze.

3. If you are going to try and preserve your velvet buck yourself, try a product called velvalok. Results will not be as good as a full treatment from a taxidermist, but for a DIY it works ok.

Anyone who brings a deer to me whole, I will cape it for free.
