Feeling stiff?
Wednesday we'll take things into the DEEP.
In Yin, we focus on loosening up fascia, Fascia is a thin sheath of stringy connective tissue that surrounds every part of your internal body. It provides support to your muscles, tendons, ligaments, tissues, organs, nerves, joints and bones.
Fascia build-up is in part due to repetitive motion, sedentary lifestyles, or traumatic injuries.
Unhealthy, or unregulated fascia thickens and becomes... sticky, which then limits your mobility during daily activities.
In theory, fascia is comparable to rigor mortis, however... for the living. ⚰️ 🌱
Rigor Mortis, (like fascia build-up) comes and goes. The difference is Rigor Mortis is the outward appearance of stiffness after death -- as opposed to a build-up of fascia; the internal stiffness we experience during life.
Neither condition is permanent. Although we can't stop rigor mortis, we can promote greater mobility in our daily lives by loosening our fascia and moving our bodies more.
Join me on the mat this Wednesday as we dive into the DEEP and discover DEPTH to our mobility and movement practices!
