🏋️ Trainer Tip: Finding Your Sn**ch Grip

A quick way to find your sn**ch grip is to start with the bar in your hip crease while standing tall. Your hands should be wide enough that the bar sits comfortably in the fold of your hips with straight arms—without you having to bend your elbows or lean forward.

Another checkpoint: when the bar is overhead, your elbows should be locked out and the bar should sit directly over your shoulders, hips, and midfoot. If your grip is too narrow, you’ll often struggle to keep the bar overhead. Too wide, and you’ll lose power and stability.

Everyone’s ideal grip will be slightly different based on arm length, torso length, and mobility, but most lifters will have the index finger somewhere near the outer ring marks on a standard Olympic barbell.

Take a few minutes to find a grip that allows for a strong overhead position and mark it with tape or remember where your fingers line up—consistency in your setup leads to consistency in your lifts. 💪
