A compromise is not always abandoning your values outright—it can look like repeatedly ignoring what you know is right because it’s easier, more comfortable, or less costly in the moment.
One of the clearest biblical examples is Samson. His downfall didn’t happen in a single day. It was a series of small concessions. He kept getting closer and closer to what he should have stayed away from until eventually the strength he relied upon was gone.
A question to consider today:
Where am I tolerating something that I once would have challenged?
“Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards…”Song of Solomon 2:15
The “little foxes” were not the vineyard, but they had the power to ruin the fruit.
Often sounds like:
“It’s not that serious”
“Everybody does it”
“You have to be realistic”
“I’m imperfect”
