The Red Fox Outdoors Sandhill 65 L Backpack. This pack is my companion for my Mountains to Sea Trail Thru Hike. I call it "The Courier" due to the Top Secret zipper pocket that no one but you knows about....Ok, maybe now everyone knows but I'm not telling anyone where's it's at...but it sure does come in handy. I'm carrying around 50lbs in the pack and it has held up great. Comes with plenty of outside storage pockets for my wet rain gear, has straps on both side to hold my cheap sleeping pad that I named "Lucille"...Think Cool Hand Luke not The Walking Dead... I own the Osprey Exos 58 and this pack is very similar. The Sandhill has better quality straps and clips and it has hip pockets which the Osprey doesn't. The Osprey does however have thicker shoulder straps and it weighs just a tad more than The Red Fox Outdoors Sandhill 65. They're both really good packs but for the price difference and quality of the straps and clips, I decided to carry The Courier... We've bonded now and we're going all the way to Cape Hatteras and Jockey's Ridge with it!...I'll put a link in the comments for you to look. If you buy something, I'll get a couple bucks.

Where is Trail Marshall?... Thanks folks for the messages of concern and blessings. I'm just moving along here. I feel bad leaving folks in limbo but this trail has been a bit more remote than a lot of the AT is ..There's not much cell service around so instead of getting daily hiking updates, Folks have been getting a weekly mystery report called "Where's Trail Marshall?"...Well, I'm just plugging away... It's been some tough hiking and there's been a lot of awesome things I've come across over the last week. Ofcourse, I've been cold, sore and tired...a bit wet and starving for a large pizza and some Mexican food with a gyro on the side, but things haven't been too bad. It's been fun .. We'll get caught up on some posts in the next couple days and keep it moving........This picture here gives a huge hint of where I'm at....

First Mountains to Sea Trail Winter Thru Hike

Estimated date of departure: December 27th, 2021
Summary:
Beginning on December 27th, 2021, I will be leaving to attempt The First Ever Winter
Thru Hike of the Mountains to Sea Trail. This trail goes 1175 miles across the state of
North Carolina from Clingman’s Dome, in the Great Smoky Mountains, to Jockey’s
Ridge State Park on The Outer Banks of North Carolina. This trail climbs both the
tallest mountain peak and the highest sand dune in the Eastern United States. I will
take approximately 2,112,000 footsteps to complete it.
This trail, though shorter than my previous thru hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2020/
2021, will be quite a bit more challenging to complete because it is not as popular,
limiting resupply options and there is only one established shelter on the trail making
camping more difficult in the winter weather conditions.
The trail has been in existence since the year 2000 and only 140 people have completed the entire trail in its history.
Only 15 people were able to complete this trail last year and no one has ever attempted a Winter Thru Hike before,
so I will be completely on my own for the duration of the journey. The challenges I will face will be extreme. The
weather conditions alone make it no easy feat to accomplish but success is expected as I continue on my journey of
my own personal growth while working to educate inexperienced hikers, emphasize the life changing affects the
beauty of nature provides, and inspire people to live their lives to the fullest It is a team effort from my family, my
sponsors, and my fans. I could never do this without all these people behind me, supporting me, cheering for me,
and living vicariously through my exploits. Trail Marshall Hiking will continue to stand for making the impossible very possible indeed.
