The Inaugural Thomas A. Zulon, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund Hockey Classic was a blast and raised over $1500.00!! Our former players, parents and siblings proved they can still dangle, snipe and pull a hamstring at the same time. However, they were no match for the Melrose Girls Hockey team. Final score was 12-5 - although the scoreboard was easy on them and recorded a final score of 9-5. 🔥🏒🥅

Huge thanks to the event organizers and to everyone who came out to cheer, chirp, and witness some vintage skating techniques and slightly louder groans getting off the bench.

We are already excited for the rematch after everyone finishes icing their knees. From this point forward, the game will aim to take place around Thanksgiving or Christmas. Melrose High School Permanent Scholarship Fund

Please join the Melrose Girls Varsity Hockey Team (Melrose Girls Hockey) for their next home game against Beverly on February 14 at 12:00 PM at Flynn Rink. This season is especially meaningful, as we proudly celebrate the program’s eight graduating seniors and the legacy of a man who meant so much to Melrose girls’ hockey.

We are honored to highlight the Thomas A. Zulon, Jr. Memorial Scholarship, established to remember and celebrate Tom, who was more than a fan; he was a devoted family man and a constant presence behind the glass, cheering with his warm smile and upbeat spirit. His encouragement and love for the game left a lasting impact on the MHS girls' hockey community.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving graduating senior of Melrose High School who is an active member of the MHS girls’ hockey program. It recognizes a student-athlete who embodies the same dedication, sportsmanship, and team spirit that Tom so proudly supported.

Let’s pack the stands to celebrate this year’s seniors, support the team, and honor the enduring influence of a man who cheered for each and every one of them.
