Excellence is rarely an accident. More often, it’s a legacy.

Three generations. Three different levels of the game. One commitment to excellence.

Daniel Moreno’s journey didn’t begin on the ATP Tour or at LSU. It was built on a family legacy of elite competition and leadership.

His father, Agustín Moreno, is a former ATP professional, Olympian, Davis Cup player, and one of the most respected collegiate tennis coaches in the country.

His grandfather, Agustín “Che” Moreno, was a legendary midfielder for Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas) during the club’s historic Campeonísimo era, helping lead the team to six league championships and becoming one of Mexico’s most respected footballers.

Now Daniel is writing the next chapter.

As a former ATP professional, LSU All-American, and ITA All-American Championships quarterfinalist, he brings firsthand experience of what it takes to compete at the highest levels of tennis.

At TAG Training Ground, we believe experience matters. There is tremendous value in learning from coaches who have lived the journey, understand the process, and know what it takes to build champions - not just in sport, but in life.

We’re excited to welcome Daniel as he launches his first summer camp with us. This is the beginning of a long-term vision to bring world-class coaching and mentorship to the next generation of athletes.

We’re excited to welcome the Texas Showdown to TAG Training Ground at The Z-Plex!

This partnership gives players from MAC Tennis Club, TAG, and the surrounding tennis community an incredible opportunity to compete right here at home. Whether you’re just beginning your tournament journey or you’re ready to test yourself in the Open Division, there is a place for every level of player.

Even more exciting, our local athletes will have the chance to watch some of the region’s highest-level competitors up close. Seeing elite players compete isn’t just inspiring—it gives young athletes a firsthand look at the level of discipline, intensity, and commitment required to reach the top.

Bringing events of this caliber to Melissa continues our mission of creating more opportunities for our community while helping grow the game of tennis. We can’t wait to welcome players, families, and fans to TAG Training Ground and showcase what makes our tennis community so special.

Inside the Park: Ford Sports Village at The Z-Plex

It’s the last week of our Inside the Park series, and we’re wrapping it up with a spotlight on one of Melissa’s busiest recreation hubs - Ford Sports Village at The Z-Plex!

Located at 4220 E Melissa Road, the Ford Sports Village at The Z-Plex is home to Melissa Sports, TAG Training Ground (MAC Tennis Club, The Athlete School, and TAG Soccer), The Athletic Club, D-BAT, TCS Baseball, and Vista Physical Therapy. Park amenities include synthetic turf baseball/softball fields, soccer fields (grass and synthetic turf), tennis courts, and a playground. Whether you're training, playing, or cheering from the sidelines, there’s always something happening here!
