FREE Florida Department of Health (DOH) swimming lessons to eligible Florida families.
This program is dedicated to increase water safety and prevent drownings in Florida.

It's World Drowning Prevention Day. Every year, at least 236,000 people drown. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), drowning is one of the top 10 leading causes of death for children and youth aged one to 24 years.

The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson this year was another success 💙🏊🏻‍♀️ Aquatics & Education appreciates all of our community participants for attending this global initiative, Palm Bay Fire Rescue for jumping in with our swim instructors, Palm Bay Parks & Recreation for supporting the emergency response scenario, Health First & Health First Trauma Center and First Flight Air Medical Transport for prioritizing drowning prevention and community outreach, and Healthy Start Coalition of Brevard for advocating for child safety on and off the pool deck! We can’t wait to jump in again next year for this important event 🌊

We are proud to have partnered with the City of Palm Bay to help make this year's The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson a success! 💙🏊Water safety is a community effort, and we're grateful to have had the opportunity to teach life-saving skills alongside so many dedicated families, volunteers, and community partners. We are so excited for The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson

🌊 Join Palm Bay for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson and a day of fun, learning, and water safety! 🏊‍♀️💦

Bring the family to the Palm Bay Aquatic Center on June 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for an exciting event focused on building confidence in and around the water. Participants can swim with a firefighter, touch a fire truck, see a helicopter, explore local vendors, learn water safety skills, and connect with swim lesson and outreach opportunities.

Whether your child is just getting comfortable in the water or already loves to swim, this is a great opportunity to practice important safety skills while having fun. Check-ins begin at 9:40 a.m.

Honored to accept this proclamation from Brevard Public Schools (official) recognizing National Water Safety Month. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue expanding school-based water safety programs and ensuring more children have access to lifesaving water safety education. These initiatives are only possible through the continued support, collaboration, and commitment of our schools, community leaders, families, and all connected stakeholders who believe in protecting our kids. Thank you Every Child A Swimmer, FSPA Space Coast, and Healthy Start Coalition of Brevard for providing water safety education in the traditional classroom setting and on the pool deck this year.

Water safety is a community effort, and together we are making a lasting impact. Aquatics & Education is excited to reach and support even more students next school year as we continue building safer, stronger, and more confident young swimmers throughout our community.
