Viera Lacrosse Club Board Election - July 18 @ 7:00 PM
Our Annual Meeting is upon us which serves the dual purpose of general members to have an open forum to share constructive and ideas to elect Club Board of Directors. The meeting will be at the Viera Regional Park Rec Center Tuesday, July 18, 2018 at 7 PM in classroom 3 (the first classroom on the left as you enter the building).

Dear Players, Parents, Coaches, and Boosters,

We were all shocked to hear about the tragic loss of Coach Jim Cox this past Friday. Coach Cox was very close to the heart of Merritt Island lacrosse and lacrosse in Brevard County as a whole. Coach Jim was involved with the Merritt Island Youth and high school programs, but also the Landsharks and other Brevard county teams as well. Most likely he either directly or indirectly coached many of our current and former players. He was not only a coach to many of us, but he was a faithful husband and loving dad. His death is a reminder that life is fragile and lacrosse is just game, but it is a game that unites us and makes us family. As you know, when something happens within our lacrosse family, we rally to their support. I want to share with you a way that you can support the Cox family.

VIERA SUNTREE LACROSSE CLUB ANNOUNCES VENOM TOURNAMENT TEAM FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS
The Viera Vipers Girl’s lacrosse program is very excited to announce its summer tournament teams and schedule for 2016. For the first time, the club will offer girls’ teams for middle school and high school aged girls under the Viera Suntree Lacrosse Club's competitive, elite travel team know as the Venom. Centrally located in Viera, this program is open to all girls and schools in Brevard County. The program is low cost and features a coaching staff of both former and present HS lacrosse coaches. PLEASE SUPPORT ROCKLEDGE RAIDERS CHARITABLE EFFORTS TO RAISE MONEY FOR FAMILIES OF VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN MEMORY OF SANDRA COOK: 2016 FINALIST FOR BREVARD TEACHER OF THE YEAR

On Tuesday 2/23, at both the girls' varsity and boys' varsity games; the ROCKLEDGE RAIDERS will be hosting a special night in memory of Sandra Cook to raise money for families of domestic violence.

Before her untimely death, Mrs. Cook was a finalist for the 2015-2016 Brevard County "Teacher of the Year" prize and she was the reigning Rockledge High "Teacher of the Year."

Police believe Mrs. Cook was shot and killed by her estranged husband who died at the scene.

Those who knew Sandra Cook say: "She was an exemplary teacher whose lessons extended beyond the classroom, and into the real world; the kind of teacher who focused on teaching character, and not just academics."

Rockledge Raiders are hoping for a large turnout tohonor Mrs. Cook, stand against domestic violence, and help support this worthy cause.

VIERA SUNTREE LACROSSE NEEDS YOUR HELP!

We are sending an SOS to help Viera Suntree Lacrosse recruit a few more GIRLS for U9 and U11.

Currently, we have 13— U11 girls and we need at least TWO more to field a team. The U9 team has 12 players so we need 2-3 more girls!

This is a pivotal time for the Viper girls. We are hoping to nourish our younger girls (U7 & U9) with extensive skill building and would love to separate them from the U11 team. The older girls would benefit from being able to advance their skill level with more advanced concepts.

So, the Viera Lacrosse club is asking if you have or if you know of any girls that would love to play the exciting game of lacrosse and get in at the beginning we would appreciate you referring them to us and have them sign up on our website at http://www.vieralacrosseclub.com.

Practice starts the week of Jan 25 - Wed/Fri 5:30-7:00 PM at Viera Regional Park. Games are played on Saturdays.
