2027 Schedule Announcement and News!
It won't be long until the application system for permits is open and we want to try and get ahead of things this year to help our clubs that plan there events around us. This is only our intent for next year and permits are NOT approved.
State Qualifier
April 24th - 12 Mile
April 25th - Little River
National Semi Final
September 25th-26th - Lake Sugema
We do not predict we will have an issue with the Sugema permit, but 12 Mile and Little River could be different.
Our back up date for the State Qualifier is the following weekend May 1st-2nd. It is our intent to get both events on the same weekend, but it is possible with permits that they get split up between the two.
With this being said you may have noticed we are doing something new this year with the state qualifier by fishing two lakes. Everything else will remain the same as last year. 1st Place boater and co angler will advance straight to the TBF National Championship, with 2nd-7th advancing to the National Semi Final. The difference this year is we will combine your weight from both 12 Mile and Little River to determine our top 7. We will also run it back with the no entry fee qualifier introduced this season. All that will be required to fish is a TBF National Membership + State Dues paid = $100. We will then collect an optional entry at the event for those interested.
One final announcement on the NEW side for 2027. Historically we have kept the state qualifier on larger lakes to accommodate all levels of participation. 2027 will be our 5th season as a federation and every year prior we have had between 19-23 boats at our state qualifiers. This year bringing the state qualifier to a couple of the most popular tournament lakes in the state, this could change our participation numbers.
For 2027, the state qualifier will have a 40 boat limit. This will give every current member a chance to sign up while providing us some room to grow. Once permits are approved, we will announce a registration window sometime over winter with advance notice for anglers to prepare. It will be encouraged that you sign up asap as spots will be on a first come first serve basis.
We often hear anglers that want to fish, but already had events scheduled on our dates, etc. Hopefully this info will help clubs and anglers plan for 2027.
