Called to coach? Maybe you got the text saying they didn't have enough coaches so volunteered, maybe you didn't like the way things were going so you stepped up and started your own team, maybe you've been a life long lover of all things sports....
Doesn't matter how. The truth is there you are, with an opportunity to impact the future and leave your mark even if through just one player. That's a pretty big deal, a big blessing.
How do you choose to honor that opportunity??
Will you demand the potential you see that they do not? Will you take the risks on the kids who need the sport more than the sport needs them. Will you throw aside the desire to own a piece of sh*tty hardware in order to make the life of one youth athlete better?
You were called. REMEMBER YOUR WHY. Honor your position. Give the youth athletes out there a reason to invite you to their graduation, their wedding...
When all is said and done, make sure they know how worthy you think they are not just as athletes but as people. You would be amazed at how many youngsters these days do not have that reinforcement in other places!
