This month, the IRCC Employee Spotlight is shining on Courtney Mills, a new employee in the Maintenance Department. Members really appreciate Courtney’s attention to detail and the beautiful results he gets when pressure washing their homes and drives -- or repairing screen doors and windows. Courtney says he really enjoys the friendly interactions with residents and fellow employees, and is excited about the many opportunities he has within IRCC to grow professionally.

Born in Florida, Courtney and his wife are busy with four children: one boy and three girls. An ardent fan of football, his favorite team is the Miami Hurricanes. Go Canes!

The U.S. Army Chaplain Corps celebrates its anniversary each year on July 29th, the day it was authorized by the Continental Congress in 1775. There are commemorative gatherings across the globe held by Army Chaplains, Chaplain Assistants, and other support troops to observe the birthday of the Corps. The United States Army Chaplain Corps is among the smallest unit in the U.S. Army. Chaplains have served in every American conflict, providing spiritual guidance to soldiers of all faiths.

National Crème Brûlée Day is on July 27, and this popular dessert certainly deserves the recognition. The creamy custard, finished with a signature caramelized sugar glaze, was first introduced in 1691 by French Chef François Massialot. After appearing in his cookbook, the recipe quickly became a global favorite.

National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day falls every year on July 27, recognizing the 5.7 million Veterans who served in the Korean War. During the Korean War, which lasted three years, from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953, the service members were subjected to extremely harsh environmental conditions and faced unique risks. It is considered the first major conflict of the Cold War, as the Soviet Union supported North Korea and the United States supported South Korea. Korean War Veterans Armistice Day remembers the fallen and honors the retirees of this war.
