Fishing report 6– 3–26:
Had a great day fishing today with Pete Balbas and his wife Angie.
And she bought him this trip for his birthday, a bit late, since it was in March, BUT… today is their ANNIVERSARY!
Wonderful overcast all day kept us from getting hot. Downside, the overcast turned into rain three times!
Mostly soft and welcoming, but hard and very limited visibility for a bit too.
OK, so we got wet, big deal!😂
Fishing with 10 pound braid, 25 pound fluoro leader, and 3/8 oz jigs they caught 42 fish!
8 different species!
(Yes, we counted the ugly but cool arrow crab!)
They each caught a bonnet head shark. Those guys always bring lots of energy to the fight. And they are SO CUTE!
Angie caught her first ever bonnethead, mangrove snapper, black drum, and ladyfish!
I love it when clients catch their first of anything!
They each caught seven ladyfish, well actually a lot more, but many were throwing the jigs back at us!
Great battles. Lots of jumps and acrobatics.
We saw some manatees and dolphins too. Always a treat in Southwest Florida.
And finally, we fulfilled the most important requirement of any good fishing trip, we came home!
Take care, and tight lines,
Captain Barry
