Captain Barry Cudas Fishing Tips For Newbies:
You don’t have to just fish live bait under a popping cork. It can be great for fishing artificials too.
Here I’m using a Gulp Swimming Mullet, I call it a curly tail, under a popping cork.
Works really well for slow trolling in shallow water!

Captain Barry’s fishing tips for newbies: if you’re new to spin casting, you need to leave the right amount of line below your rod tip to get a good cast.
From your rod tip, about 4 to 6 inches above your leader knot works best.
If you reel your knot up into your guides, it will interfere with your cast. It can also do damage to your knot.
On your retrieve, keep your rod at right angles to your line
That way, if you get that sudden, explosive strike, the rod can absorb the shock and let your reel release drag before your line snaps.
I’ll be posting more tips about casting and retrieving.
