The other week we traded horses and panniers for chainsaws and backpacks to head over and help our brothers at at our sister outfitting operation clear trails after last year's wildfire. The fire left miles of downed timber and blocked access throughout a large portion of the permit area, but with a lot of sweat, teamwork, and plenty of saw gas, we were able to help get the backcountry one step closer to being ready again. Thankfully, much of the fire was outside of the wilderness area so we weren't stuck using hand saws.

The mountains have a way of healing, and it's incredible to see new growth already coming back through the burn. We're proud to do our part to help restore these trails so future hunters, horsemen, and outdoor enthusiasts can continue enjoying this incredible country.

50 years in the Colorado high country.
As we celebrate our 50th season, it's only fitting to spend some time in a place that means a lot to us.

This mountain has seen generations of guides, hunters, anglers, horses, and guests pass through its trails. For our founder, this is his favorite spot—a place so special he one day wants his ashes spread here. For the countless number of hunters that overlooked this park and harvested a bull in the spot that bears the name: Kip's Park

Fifty years later, the views haven't changed much, and neither has our passion for sharing Colorado's backcountry with others. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.

💪 12-Hour Shift in the Mud 💪
One of our drop camp hunters shot this bull at 6pm. Watched him flip over backwards in a deep mud hole burying his antlers over 30 inches. It took the whole camp effort to get it quartered and packed to the trees before rolling back into camp at 6:30am.
That is Colorado backcountry wilderness elk hunting at its best!
