Weisberg Taekwon-Do Center

Weisberg Taekwon-Do Center Taekwon-Do instruction for children, teenagers, and adults. Affiliations include ITF-USA and Original ITF Taekwon-Do of America. Classes are taught by Mr.

Our school covers the Itasca, Medinah, Roselle, and Wood Dale communities and the many surrounding suburbs in Illinois. At the National level, we are registered with the ITF-USA. Weisberg, who has been training in Taekwon-Do for 50 years, teaching Taekwon-Do for about 20 years, and recently retired after 32 years as a high school principal and teacher. The Weisberg Taekwon-Do Center is open to any

one from ages eight through teenagers and adults. Classes are currently held on Mondays from 5:00 to 6:00 at the Medinah Park District and on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 at the Itasca Park District. Visitors are always welcome to come and observe any class. We are open year round. In addition, there are not any contracts to sign at W-TKD. Imagine what an advantage you will have now, and in the future, by learning martial arts today. Do you like to stretch, kick, punch, relieve stress, and feel good? The benefits of Taekwon-Do include character building, confidence, self-esteem, discipline, focus, perseverance, physical fitness, improved balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and self-defense. Imagine that “attitude is everything” and you will never give up in any aspect of your life. This is Taekwon-Do! This is the Weisberg Taekwon-Do Center! Step through our doors, observe a class, and see how we compare to typical storefront martial arts schools which have yearly locked-in contracts, hidden fees, required tournament participation, and the expense of monthly stripe and belt tests. At the Weisberg Taekwon-Do Center, there are no contracts to sign, no hidden fees, no excessive promotion tests and minimal tournaments to attend. Additional instruction before each class and other opportunities at no cost are regularly offered.

Here are some old photos as Mr. Weisberg is feeling a little nostalgic. Parents, please share with your students.
--Back in the 1980's and 90's, we would enter many tournaments. Notice the students wearing headbands as we still do today.
--Notice the bulleting board that would be brought to every class prior to Facebook and computers.
--Mr. Weisberg used to compete, umpire, judge, and referee.
--Mr. Weisberg as a white belt in Moo Duk Kwon Taekwondo in 1975. Photo taken in New York City.
--The very first board Mr. Weisberg broke in 1975.
--Mr. Weisberg wearing the new ITF Taekwon-Do greyish blue uniform in 1981.
--Mr. Weisberg with Grand Master Richard Chun in New York City in about 1976. His book follows.
--Some students of Mr. Weisberg in the 80's and 90's. This includes one student who trained in a wheelchair.
--General Choi, father of Taekwon-Do, signed Mr. Weisberg's student membership card as we were eating dinner together, 1981.
--ITF membership card, 1980.
--Mr. Weisberg is second from right, back row, high school club, in 1975.
--Other tournaments...
--Mr. Weisberg was on the demonstration team from his school as a student in the 80's.
--We hosted the tryouts for the USA team that competed in Argentina in the 1981 3rd World TKD Championships.
--Mr. Weisberg's instructor wrote this in one of his books in 2003.
--Old trophies and plaques of appreciation for officiating are gathering dust. :) :)

Thank you to those Weisberg Taekwon-Do parents who support their students through their Taekwon-Do journey and to the students who competed at the tournament. Remember students, it is not about winning and losing. It is about doing your best in every aspect of your life.

Original ITF Taekwon-Do of America would like to express our sincere gratitude to all volunteers, umpires, instructors, parents, and everyone who dedicated their time, energy, and heart to making the International Umpire Course and the U.S. Open ITF Taekwon-Do Championships 2026 possible.

Because of your hard work, support, responsibility, and dedication, these events were successfully conducted at a high international level.
Your contribution was more than organizational support — it was a contribution to the development of Taekwon-Do, the unity of our international ITF family, and the spirit of respect, discipline, and friendship.

Special thanks to all umpires for your professionalism and commitment to ITF standards, to our volunteers for the tremendous work behind the scenes, and to all parents for continuously supporting the athletes and our entire team.

We truly appreciate each and every one of you.
