Michael is also a Certified Magna Wave PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) Therapy Practitioner. He is available for PEMF
sessions as well. Feel free to contact Michael to find out more about PEMF or to schedule a session! Michael prides himself on being diligent in furthering his own education, having trained under Olympic Canadian Eventer Bruce Mandeville as well as having trained with Phillip Dutton, William Fox-Pitt, Denny Emerson, Mike Plumb, Doug Payne, Boyd Martin, George Williams, Sally Cousins, and many more top competitors and instructors. Michael has experienced a number of different teaching styles ranging from very theoretical-based to very practical-based, and enjoys being able to draw from both sides to create a well-rounded approach to riding. Michael’s top accomplishments include his back-to-back CNC ½* and CNC 1* National Championships in 2015 and 2016. The CNC ½* and CNC 1* are a throwback to the days of the Classic Long Format Eventing in which horse and rider must compete in 3 additional phases beyond the current 3 phase format of eventing. This requires immense training, preparation, and conditioning to complete these events. Michael and Fernhill Cayenne took home the National Championship in the CNC ½* in 2015 and returned the next year to claim not only the championship title, but also the “Best Conditioned Horse” award in the only CNC1* left in the United States. More recently, Michael took home a 3rd place finish at the VAHT CCI2*-S in May 2019 with Fernhill Fugitive, only being topped by two 5* riders! They were one of only 4 combinations out of 29 to jump double clear in show jumping, one of only 7 to go double clear XC, and one of only 2 to finish on their dressage score!
