A great start to the season for new head coach Kami Hahn!

YOUR MLJSHS CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS ARE OFF TO AN AMAZING START OF THEIR SEASON!! The team members, both junior high and high school, traveled to Pretty Prairie yesterday, and they learned what positive rewards often come from hard work and determination:) Mrs. Kami Hahn took over the reins of the program this year, and she obviously knows her stuff as 6 of the 8 runners earned medals for their performances. MLHS Sophomore Boyd Banks was well on his way to also earning a medal, but he rolled his ankle in the middle of the race and that slowed him way down. The results for the day:

Junior High - 7th grade -1 mile race -Asher Brittain-finished strong 8th grade - 2 mile race-Kendall Hall-1st place!! Devon Gamber-5th

Freshman-4K race- Dakota Hull 7th

Sophomore - 5K race - Jaxon Baird - 3rd place
Sophomore -5K race-Boyd Banks - ankle injury during the race
Junior -5K race- Miguel Hernandez - 6th place

Senior Davis Miltner was sent to Rim Rock Farms to compete against the states best. He placed 52nd out of around 200 in his race. He race primarily kids from 5a-6a schools. Finish time was 16:44.8 on the toughest course in the state!

Team woke up bright and early to head to Stafford for an unplanned race in the schedule. We are very proud of everybody’s work today.

Team woke up on a Saturday ready to crush some competition! Senior Kole Davis, Junior Phoenix Cross, and Freshman Madison Day ran their first 5Ks of the season and worked their tails off. The team had a great day bringing home many medals! Here are a few pics from the day!

THE 2024 MLHS/MLJH CROSS COUNTRY TEAM MIGHT BE SMALL IN NUMBERS, BUT THEY ARE BIG IN STAMINA AND GUTS!! Coach Chris Fischer, MLHS 2009 graduate, is looking forward to a season full of new personal best times and some victories that will earn his team members some impressive hardware. SENIORS DAVIS MILTNER AND KOLE DAVIS are an amazing source of inspiration for the younger runners. We all look forward to watching the team members perform as they gut it out on the scorching hot days and the sometimes freezing cold days at the end of the season. Cross-country parent meeting!

Coach Fischer will have a meeting tonight in the HS library for students (and their parents) who are interested in participating in cross-country this Fall. Meeting time is 6 pm.
