• Increased Energy Demand
During late pregnancy, especially with twins, a doe’s caloric requirements rise significantly. Without adequate nutrition, she may lose body condition, which can lead to weaker fawns or reduced survival rates.

• Milk Production Preparation
Adequate nutrition before birth helps ensure the doe can produce sufficient, high-quality milk after fawning, which is essential for the fawns’ early life stages.

Consistent supplementation can improve reproductive success, reduce mortality, and maintain a stronger, more balanced deer population over time.
• Provide high-protein feed (16–20%) to support fetal growth and body maintenance
