Something I’ve always struggled with as a gym owner was the balance of real life...real goals..and the box.

The box creates this really amazing community—really awesome relationships—and LOTS of goals and aspirations. What we do is wild! Weights and gymnastics! Cardio and competition—it’s everything men and women need to wake up and...get alive!

However—at times CrossFit becomes the goal—and it was never meant to be that.  

I see CrossFit and it’s community as a tool to make missionaries out of depressed people. CrossFit is a tool to make sick people healthy.  Fitness...in community—is a circle that helps kick deadly and stupid thoughts away.

I just wanted to encourage everyone to take a minute: remember why you started: and reach for that goal.  The goal is to become more whole—and be ready to go do whatever Higher Power has taught you to go...get after.  AMRAPs and TIMECAPs help us do that...braver. Better.

Now...to the rough part: Jamie Wilson...will be coaching her last class tomorrow at 5am, 6am and the kids class at 4:00pm.  Come. Workout...celebrate her...and remember how many hours..how much sweat...and how she’s been a standard of working CrossFit methodology—our favorite coach in the gym. I want to honor her—she’s carried so much load as I’ve been fighting to grow and build this community over the years. For this I’m unspeakably grateful. She gave me time to pursue Ukraine! Cambodia! Covered me when we built a gym for refugees in San Diego!—she allowed me to take my first vacation in 4.5 years when she joined staff! Holy crap. We value Jamie SO much! And God brought us such a good thing when she jumping into our community. She’s really lead our athletes and CrossFit’s methodology ridiculously well. Please call her...text her...send her chocolate: and as she moves into a new season—don’t let her forget about the opportunities she’s helped walk y’all into.
